It's a third gen thing. The adhesive on the bracing would come undone. Smitty has mentioned that someone succesfully lemoned a third gen because of it.

I think it has been solved.

I had the opportunity to drive a customers 2016 Sport before I bought mine. I'm 5'10", so not real tall, but not short either. The scoop bothered me while I was driving. So I'm with the non-scooped hood crowd.

So it MAY have possibly happened ONE TIME according to a semi-reliable anecdotal report from a friend of a friend of a friend of someone you don't really know from the internet.

    Now THERE is factual evidence.......

Yeah that only took me 30 seconds of searching. Also I feel like I SHOULD TYPE IN CAPS, because everyone is too dumb to comprehend normal text right?

Feeling, my good sir.......feeeeeelliinnnggggsss!!!!.....oh, whoa whoa......feeeeeeeelllinnnngsssss.....

Thing is, I've had the adhesive on the hood bracing separate on every Tacoma I have had. It's not an unusual thing, but one Toyota likes to not cover under a warranty.

This might sound stupid and vain but now that I own one and know the difference between all the models (barring the scoupped Pro) I kinda want to flaunt that I have an OFF ROAD with crawl control and locking diff. Hence no scoupe. lol.

That's why I bought a Rubicon. I wanted everyone at Bed Bath & Beyond to KNOW I could lock up at any given moment, and crawl over a curb.
