I need to replace the spring for the shifter retainer cup, any one know how to separate the top half of the shaft in order to remove the cup and spring?

Here is the part number to replace the shifter bushing
Toyota Part no. 33548-60040 . You can also get this bushing from Marlin Crawler and all the guys say its better than the factory bushing

Thanks for the welcome!!! And yes I am talking about the manual shift arm. The shifter retainer cup has a spring under it that keeps it in place and locked. My spring is broken and needs to be replaced. The problem is there is no way to remove the old spring or retainer cup. The top half of the shift arm is a separate piece pressed on some how with a rubber damper in it, and the diameter is larger than the lower section. If I could remove it, The spring and cup could be replaced. Was hoping someone out there new how to remove it, if possible. Or the other option, to locate a good used one....
