My cousins (related by marriage only) came East from California for my other (blood-related) cousin's wedding back in 2016...

I took them outside to show them my stereo system, and then the conversation turned to positraction...

Turns out neither of them knew what the hell it was!

My truck has a brake-actuated auto-LSD, which is technically an open rear, but when engaged it behaves similar to a true posi rear...

I drove them to the college campus next door to my Grandma's house and did a few donuts in a gravel parking lot with them crammed into the truck with me...

They know what it means a when a vehicle "has a posi"!

April 2013: Installed first stereo system (Pioneer single-DIN head unit and Pioneer component speaker system; Cost me only $240 for whole system, but sounded better than factory Bose system in my friend's $75K Audi!).

October 2013: Installed Platinum Apex 16" wheels.

    March 2015: Rear-ended by a texting driver.

October 2015: Hit by a drunk driver.

September 2016: Neighbor helped install touch-screen head unit and backup camera, which were paid for with restitution money from drunk driver!

    December 2016 or January 2017:
    Finally added intermittent wipers!

May 2017: @HomerTaco installed my new Toywerx grille!

May 2017: The Sony touch-screen head unit ended up being defective, so Crutchfield exchanged it for THIS UNIT, which after less than a year I don't like due to the lack of built-in iPod control. I have already bought a replacement head unit (Another Pioneer with not only built-in iPod control but Apple CarPlay!) and my neighbor will be helping me install it this Friday.

June 2017: A/C recharged for very first time!

    July 2017: Installed WeatherTech rain-guards.

August 2017: Entered in "Stock Import" class at 2017 Carlisle Truck Nationals; Won third place!

    October 2017:
Installed @Ellis Precision billet gearshift knob.

March 2017: Installed another head unit!

April 2018: Installed Rockford Fosgate amplifier and Kicker powered subwoofer!

May 2018: Installed WeatherTech bug deflector!

July 5th, 2018: Side windows and rear slider professionally tinted

August 2018: Source of A/C leak discovered; Evaporator core and expansion valve replaced at a cost of almost $1,600!

September 2018: Wet Okole seat covers

March 2019: Bought Cooper Discoverer AT3 tires and went back to stock wheels for the first time in more than five years!

Future Plans: Trailer hitch, fog lights...

From about January 2015-June 2016, I did some things, while driving, that I am not proud of...
This most notably includes the time in May 2016 when I drove my Tacoma onto a sidewalk in my own neighborhood to get around some construction workers who were blocking the road just so they could chat. Thankfully, all that resulted from that fiasco was a blown right rear tire on my truck...

This was a period of time where I was doing a lot of driving for work and thus driving a lot more than I had in the past. I was exposed to things (mostly other asshole motorists) that I'd never encountered before, and I had a tendency to react very strongly to certain things. I am proud to say at that as of this posting (February 25th, 2018), although I still do beep at other drivers sometimes when they make me mad, I have not had a road rage incident in over a year. Also, my road rage incidents have amounted to someone flipping me off or me flipping someone else off (nothing beyond that).

Here's to a safe, relaxing drive on the road of life!

1966 Mustang my dad found in someone’s barn for $500. It was Red on Red with Inline 6 200CI with 3spd manual. It was rusty AF and loud as shit due to rusted out exhaust. Had to use a flat head screwdriver to start it due to ignition being screwed up. Anywhere I’d go I had to take of negative battery terminal cause there was a slow drain we never found. Radiator leaked, headliner sagged, radio didn’t work, and brakes were super sketchy. Drove it through high school.

You're still young...so hearing advice from an older guy isn't always effective. But restraint in most situations is prudent. As you age testosterone levels drop some which helps to chill you out. But the biggest thing that begins to develop as you age is a true understanding of consequences. Will my actions have the potential to lead to an undesirable outcome?

As a married man with 2 kids and a good job I'm in a position with too much at stake to take the chance that an exchange on the road could lead to something that could net an accident, jail time, injury to myself or someone else....or worse.

My family depends on me. I can do them no good from prison or the grave.

Also...there are cameras everywhere these days including smart phones that virtually everyone carries. A phone video of you going off on somebody could be easy evidence to a police officer. And even if the exchange wasn't that bad from your perspective, it could easily be misconstrued and lead to trouble for you. Not to mention that you would probably end up on YouTube with all the other road rage videos....forever immortalized.

So keep on learning and maturing. Being macho and tough is a sign of immaturity and insecurity for the average person. A real man can ignore the idiots in life and live another day.

And stay off the fucking sidewalk! :smack:

Construction material theft is very common. In some cases loss of material outweighs the cost of security. It's possible he was security or perhaps a foreman cruising through to see the days progress or ensure things were secure for the night.

A guy in a pickup truck driving through a new development after hours with no real reason to be there. Come on Charles....do the math. Of course it looks suspicious

I'd heard the term gasser, and I was 98% sure that's what it was called. Just wasn't sure enough to use the term "gasser" though.

It's not an actual "Gasser Ranger," just Ranger inspired by the old gassers...

My dad had a blue '68 Mustang when he was in college! I think he owned it from like 1979 to 1981. It had been set up by the previous owner for drag racing. It had a 302, automatic, and posi...

It also did not have power steering and had electrical problems out the ass, but my dad got it cheap!

My dad put an aftermarket stereo system with a tape deck in it if I remember correctly.
