Also, if the axis labels are inaccurate, well that adds to the WTF factor. Commanded Torque or Requested Torque would make more sense for the 1st gear map, obviously.

I don't know if it will or not.


The 3D torque tables are a representation of the amount of torque (optimal) that the transmission expects depending on vehicle speed and throttle.
higher numbers = faster, firmer shifts.
lower numbers = loose / sloppier shifts.

 

Does that 2018 Camry update happen to support the 2.5L 4 cylinder? Got a very excited woman next to me who would love to know.

 

Okay Guys... I seem to somehow keep loosing changes as I stumble and bumble along in vF Tuner to customize my 2016 (O4B14) M/T

I must be doing something funky with save/exports. So I decided to pick my favorite @OVTune 2.0 tune (04B14+2.0+Rev+Hang+Clutch+Hang.vft), make a copy of the file, rename it, and start clean.

Here are the changes that I've made so far.

5. Rough Transition 2.0K-3.2K RPM Updates (click here)

Am I missing anything good

Yeah. Starting from an original file goofed me up on a couple saves, so I copy and rename before opening in vF.

@OVTune Sorry if this has already been answered. Are the first gear throttle limit tables ONLY for first gear as labeled, or do they modify throttle limits for all gears for the given set (2 High/4 High/4 Low)?

 

This afternoon I flashed my truck for the first time. I used 04B04_Premium_Stock and after flashing I cleared LV and AT values before starting the truck, letting it idle for 5 minutes, and then taking it for a 50 mile drive.

My initial impression is how smooth it runs now. Smooth idle and smooth power delivery. I expected a more noticeable increase in power, but instead it was increased drive ability throughout the rev range with a lot less unnecessary shifting. So far so good with 50 miles of learning. I'm sure it will develop further in the next few weeks. I did do one full throttle acceleration from a business onto a high speed 2 lane road ( ~5mph to 70 ) and the power was noticeable there (again with the increased smoothness).

I am curious what the THX tunes feel like. I know this is "throttle enhancement", but in what respect? Is it more aggressive throttle application? More linear throttle application? Can anyone describe the difference?

 

I'm also looking the go back to 87.

I only run premium because it's smoother

If i can get smoother from 87 I'll do that. Power house this truck is not.

I definitely appreciated the extra grunt, I just don't really need it. I value the $ savings over the extra power. For my use case I just don't need it.

I've tried to use VF tuner to log shift points with ZERO success. Is there an easy way to tell exactly what gear I'm in to better log my shift points for adjustment instead of holding up my fingers as it goes up and down and guessing when it's an actually shift and not the torque converter locking / unlocking / half locking.... actual throttle position would be great as well.

 

OBD Fusion will report gear and TC state. That is just about the limit of my knowledge with the AutoMagic side of things.

 

Is that something I download onto my laptop and use the tactrix?

 

Nah. Bluetooth OBD adapter and your phone.

Download this "OBD Fusion" on the play store and buy an adapter on Amazon to plug into my obd port?

 

I drive with techstream. OBD fusion is too slow, sometimes 2 to 3 sec slow to display.
I have condensed techstream parameters to 20-25 and you can see a better picture. Very fast and you can get more data points/sec.
However, I still don't know if VF has and angle or % for accelerator and throttle, cause TS does not have accelerator degree..

 

Do you have Techstream installed? I've never used the OVT logger or OBD Fusion, but I know you can do it in Techstream. You can get the TC lock status too, along with pretty much anything else you would like to log and more.....
