Pulling to the left over 60mph

2021 with Goodyear tires 3500 miles no issues.

 

Tire rotation 'might' show something.

If not, get an alignment at an independant shop with a solid reputation

 

I was thinking that at first but it does it no matter lane and on a bunch of different roads. Just 60+ though which is strange.

 

Same with mine at 4500 miles. Best driving truck I've owned.

Ignore the negative stuff. It's nonsense. The tires are fine, categorically. Maybe - mayyyybe you got a bad set or something but the stock Goodyears are fine tires. Could be alignment. Could be crowned roads, cupped lanes, winds, or a combination of any of the above.

 

Well the update is everything with the alignment is good. Took the pressure up to 40psi going to see what happens next.

 

Pro and OR come with the same tires.

 

Going to 40 is getting close to max pressure. If the tire is somewhere between 30-36 psi and is equal then it should not pull. If it’s pulling then it has nothing to do with the tire. In Utah the freeway is 80 mph and I’ve never been pulled by the truck. Unless there were 60-90 mph cross winds anyways.

 

You’re right. I don’t edited the bad info out. I mixed up my wife’s Camry’s tire door tire pressure sticker. Good call.

 

Yo! So I got a TRD Pro in Feb. I noticed that I had to apply some slight left steering..thought it might have been the road or winds. So at 1k miles i took it in to get an alignment and wahlah. Alignment was slightly off pulling to the right. Thought i was the only one that had that weirdness

 

So it seems the lower pressure causes steering system to have a nervous feel to it. 38psi it drives more like a normal truck which why I question Toyota wants you to run 30psi.

You are not alone...I noticed throughout the 1st 4k miles that my new 2021 TRD Pro pulled and drifted to the right. When adjusting for issue while driving, it feels like you are constantly making extra effort to stay in a lane (especially on the freeway). My steering wheel has always been a little off-centered to the right also. I even notice that it seems like I feel a rougher than normal ride most of the time due to the correction factor of trying to straighten the steering wheel. I feel that making lane departures to the left take more effort and there is more resistance. At the 5k maintenance/service check, I mentioned this issue to be addressed by the Toyota Service Dept. Sure enough, the alignment was off and out of spec a little. They did alignment (#1) for free to bring back to spec, but I did not feel any real difference when I got my truck back. Later took my truck back and they did another alignment (#2). Shit man this is getting annoying...3rd time is a charm right??? Third time had the service mgr. drive it to see for himself. "Yes" I do feel something is slightly off. They had my truck for about an additional 1.5 days. They moved the wheels/tires to all different locations. Nope...not that. Next they tried a whole different set of wheels/tires from a different vehicle. Nope...not that. Then I got a call saying they think it is better, and I went to pick it up. I tested it out, and yes I felt like it did not pull and drift so much anymore and the steering wheel was "better" centered. I was told that the mechanic did a bunch of adjusting back and fourth with the alignment moving around the steering wheel. Unfortunately, I think that the issue is not fixed. During my last drive (only 2 days after another alignment #3) the drift is coming back and the steering wheel is beginning to be off-centered to the right again. I am seriously thinking that the Fox Shocks may be defective. That is just my guess right now. Obviously it could be something else, I just don't know.

Putting my tires to 38-40psi cold made a difference. The truck has been checked at the dealership and a independent shop. My alignment was off at first but afterwards it took the pressure change to make a difference.

 

Thanks for the update! Sucks that the pressure has to be that much higher than recommended. Especially if you OR and need to lower the pressure.

 

2021 OR here, had a similar issue, truck pulls to the right ever so slightly and becomes more noticeable at higher speeds. Initially I thought it was the wind but after a few calm good weathered days it was apparent something was off. Took it to the dealer and the front driver side toe was at -17 from factory. Dealer corrected it under warranty, I had around 3600 miles at that time.
