I'm going to have to back out of this trip. I never got my raise so I can't afford to make this one. I hope you guys have a blast and I will absolutely be there for next years. OP please take me off the confirmed list.

Ok ill have to look into white rim.. Any idea what time you think you'll be starting? Ill be driving down to Moab from Rocky Mountain national park Tuesday and was thinking about running top of the world. Looks pretty mild so I thought I'd give it a shot solo if I can't find anyone else to go. Might spend sometime in arches national park too.
Wednesday I was thinking about maybe going down to canyon lands and doing elephant hill. So maybe some Bfe stuff after that?
Thursday I'm not sure but it will probably be my last day wheeling. Trifecta looks sick but maybe too long and too difficult for being so far from home. Larry said it took them 12 hours last year.
Friday ill be starting the drive home.

If I get there I'll be on Trifecta on Thursday and Moab Rim on Saturday.

Friday will be a chill day with my wife.

Yeah I should have gotten my raise in January, which would have given me ample time to get ready and save up, but no such luck.

white rim will be an early start...sunrise to sunset type of day

i'll let you know how elephant hill is, i'll be running that this saturday :D

seems like an amazing trail from what i've seen. same thing with top of the world

keep in mind, the trail ridge road in RMNP may still be closed so you'll have to go around in order to start heading west (cameron pass and south or south to I70). otherwise you can take trail ridge through to grand lake and head south through winter park or west to kremmling and south to silverthorne.

but i'm sure you know that already by now

trifecta will definitely be a long day for sure and we'll have multiple groups going on that it's looking like (need to keep all trail groups manageable and 10 or less trucks if possible)

should be a few of us at BFE on wednesday so definitely swing through, we can find something to run out there that's manageable for you.

Yea just checked white rim. Sounds like a reallllly long day but could make up some time on the dirt road portions.
So I guess ill stick with top of the world Tuesday. Ill be camping in Bfe with you guys so we'll figure it out.

Another question I've been meaning to ask... What is the deal with firewood?

no cutting down anything in BFE so all wood should be brought in..

i have not seen any restrictions on how far away you can bring wood in..

i know colorado has restrictions on firewood and a radius of how far out you can bring wood in for camping (bug issues).

    maybe someone knows otherwise?

i bet u could open open.....
if ur willing to try, im willing to try, i can winch u out if needed.

what about night runs..... after seeing those pics of hells revenge at night.... kinda thinkin itd be fun:D
also think bfe at night probly not a good idea.... sharp rocks and long cliffs in the dark. sand dunes one day in the evening for group pics? raffle im fairly certain we have scheduled for sat night. once Bob is back from cruise we will be solidifying the schedule.

also was thinking about making up a list of things to print out on a brochure type of thing to hand out to everyone when they get there.... just things to remember when in moab like:
-dont hot rod around town, we dont need the publicity and you dont want the ticket

-When consuming alcohol at camp, do everyone else a favor and dont get into the trucks and do donuts. you will be asked to leave.

-dont use locker on whole trail, only when needed. u will tear sh*t up.

i have more but i wont bore u.... if u have been to moab and want to add something or if u havent been to moab and have a question plz post or pm me:)
