So im thinking either demello, pelfreybuilt, relentless, or schrokworks.
Does anyone know if any of these are compatable with URD SC set up. My only concern is the Intercooler in front of my radiator coming in contact with the bumper.

forgot you have the big ass intercooler. Might be screwed because of that..im not sure.

Stay away from shockworks. Horrible customer service and you probably wont get a bumper till 14 months from now and thats if you orderd last month.

Can someone speak up and let me know if these measurements from stock bumper location and from stock radiator will allow any bumper that they have to fit...

Should be OK. How far down does the intercooler extend below the grille opening? The top flange of most plate bumpers are a good distance forward from the grille. The main winch platform (shown in the picture below) hugs close to the frame, but is located much lower:

The intercooler is only 3 inches below bottom of the grill

Agreed. I really doubt any of these other guys put as much into the design, engineering, crash-testing, etc. of their bumpers as ARB does. That being said, Relentless, Demello, Pelfreybilt, etc. definitely make really good looking products.

How do you figure that? My only issue with the ARB is the lack of shackle mounts, which I addressed with this product: http://www.tacomaworld.com/forum/2n...ry-shackle-replacement-off-road-tow-hook.html

    #End threadjack.

^Bumpers from CBI, Demello, All-Pro, etc. have better approach angles and better tire clearance. Rock-crawling protection and collision protection are slightly different. Hitting an animal at 50 mph has different physics than hitting a solid rock at 5 mph.

The ARB bumper is stronger than the frame, which has interesting ramifications in some specific collision scenarios:

ARB-equipped Taco hits deer. Bumper remained in good shape, but frame got tweaked and truck was totaled:
    http://www.tacomaworld.com/forum/pr...rb-bumper-deer-vaporizor-truck-destroyer.html

All-Pro-equipped Taco hits deer. Bumper "wing" bent and absorbed energy. More damage to headlight, fender and grille, but truck was still economical to repair:
    http://www.tacomaworld.com/forum/2nd-gen-tacomas/248393-hit-deer.html

Both trucks were driveable after the crash.

If it helps i know of a guy running a trd sc and an all pro plate bumper no problems. Not sure of what differences the trd and urd setups are but i would think you would be fine.

I don't hate them. They do fine for what they are. Problem is to keep the crash rating they are designed to buckle. Most of the steel is 1/8" at best. They also kill approach angle, add length, have NO recovery points, can't be customised by arb, stick down to far in front for large tires, take three times as long to install, contain one hundred times the small parts to assemble/rust, all with minimal means of horizontal or vertical adjustment.

They do have kick ass sturdy powdercoating.

For your question- you can get the check from insurance and spend it as you please. I had the body shop do everything except put a bumper on, and put on the steel one myself. ARB is probably the toughest, and also the most. There are tons of others that make really good ones. There's a sticky on the first page of 2nd gen's.

I vote Demello three hoop if it'l work with your cooler, those look so good!

Yea, I feel like it's only a matter of time before i hit a prarie maggot too... I've come close a few times, one of these times it's gonna make me wish I had a beef front end.

Good luck with whatever you do fixing it up!

Just so you know demello uses 1/8" steel just like arb. If your looking to get something sturdy look for 3/16" - 1/4" or a tube bumper.

Arb will also back up their products better unlike de who I have seen leave customers in the lurch.

Well then, seems for round two with the prarie maggots you might want to look somewhere other than Demello. I bet he'd make it out of 3/16" if you asked...

That's possible. They did not help the guy who bent his 1/8" winching though so I'm not a fan.
