So this is my intro, I've been a member for a few months (since I bought my new tacoma) mainly reading threads and decided to introduce myself! I LOVE my tacoma so far but looking for suggestions on blacking it out and making it different then every other tacoma I pass on a daily basis. I use this truck for everything, it gets dirty on a daily basis but that's what trucks are for right?:)

So far only have wheels, tires, and a leveling kit.

In the process of building a winch bumper with a friend, cant wait to get that on! Found the thread on tinting my tail lights and planning to do that within a couple weeks! Would like to do a BHLM but a little nervous on attempting that myself without a second pair handy. Wanting to trade out my chrome grille, or paint it if anyone has any suggestions on a good way to paint it, that will last!

I would love to hear any other suggestions. I love the truck, and it gets used like a truck. Lots of back roads and off roads, mud, snow, hay. Definitely versatile!

Thanks, I have been looking at some rear bumpers trying to decide what style I like more. So many different ones out there! Been thinking about debadging but I'm not quite sure how to and have a feeling I would do more damage then good until I find a good way to do it. Thanks for the suggestions!! :) Oh and Im about 45 min northeast of Seattle. An I will work on getting some pics this week of the bumper!

Welcome to TW! I would say the same what JoeTacoma02 mention to paint the chrome grille. Also tint the front 2 door windows makes a big difference. LED's the dome light, easy mods.

    Have fun!! :D

Thanks guys! I'm really looking forward to doing things to it :) especially the quick and easy things. I like the tint idea. Might have to be next on the list!

Hey Jami, welcome to TW - De Am, building you own bumper, now that's chick strong. Can't wait to see it. As far as mods go, seems like you have the essentials, tires, lift. If your going to do any serious off roading, a winch is a good idea and there are a variety of way to mount them. Keep in mind generally the more weight you add the more you need to be thinking about suspension to account for it. Another must do mod is a bangin audio system. Have fun and try to hang on to enough cash to feed the beast of a buddy you run with.;)

Haha yeah hanging onto the cash is gonna be impossible for at least for awhile, but I'm okay with that! It will be worth it. I've been considering a different lift to accomadate the added weight from the bumper and winch but there are so many out there from what I can see. Is there a preferred one/brand?

Thanks for the link! This will help a lot! I think it will look much better debadged. I'm not into all the chrome!

In a lot of ways this just comes down to available cash, I would stay away from the body lifts myself they do little if nothing to address ride quality. I pieced my suspension together as I went, started with Bilstein 5100 shocks and a rear TSB leaf pack. As I wheeled more and harder I knew I wanted to make some upgrades. As cash permitted I went with King OEM Performance shocks and a while later Dakar spring packs. I just posted in another thread that I wish I would have made that purchase together because I later had to have the kings refitted to account for longer axel droop - more $$$$$$. Some people sware by kits like Toytec because they are packaged to accomplish a specific lift hight and ride quality. Read the stickies on suspension and check out sites like Downsouthmotorsports.com. Do you homework it saves cash. good luck we will be :spy:

Thanks for the info! it will probably be a couple months before the new suspension, but want to do my research so I know what I want when it comes down to getting it. I too am definitely not a fan of body lifts, I dont like how they look or ride. I had a 4runner that came with one and i never liked the way it looked or rode.

Yep! body lifts = poo. I reccomend checking out Toytec and All Pro if you are looking for something around 3". I got my 3" Skyjacker suspension kit off autoanything.com for pretty cheap also. I eventually wanna upgrade to either Toytec Ultimate Coilovers or Fabtech 6" lifts though.

That would look good! Right now I have a 3" lift in the front and 1.5" in the back. I would like to get it a bit taller, I think different tires would make a difference too.
