Balancing beads for tire balancing??

I searched and didn't see anything... Anybody using the balancing beads? Curious on a review of those that have.

I ran Dynabeads inside a set of 35/12.5 km2 tires on a Dodge Ramcharger. Aluminum wheels with no external weights. The beads worked great. No shimmy at any speed and the tires wore evenly.

 

I use them and will not go back to normal weights.

 

I did not like them in my road king. Not trying to compare apples to oranges here, just not for me. I had terrible vibs over 70mph.

 

What brand are you using?

I have 8oz bags in my 35s and with a good alignment it drives straight and smooth. I drive over 20k miles a year, including a 5k mile road trip to moab every spring. Driving well on the highway is very important to me.

I had 6oz bags in my 33s and same thing.

My only advice is you have to make sure the inside of the tires and wheels are clean, and if you can, ask to help the tire installer and make sure he doesn't get lube all over the inside of the tire. Just enough on the bead to help seat it.

If you're looking to put them in your already mounted tires, thats where I think people run into issues. if there is gunk in the tire and the beads stick to it, then you might have some vibrations. If I were to put them in existing tires and wheels I'd have the tires removed from the wheels, clean everything, then have them remounted.

And i've always used the pour in bag, not the pour through valve stem or whatever.

The guy that mounts my tires loves them because it saves him an hour of balancing wheels. for $20ish a tire I think its worth it.
