Honestly I think once a year (before winter) or 5000 miles is fine. Not much benefit draining clean oil twice a year.

    Op,
Sorry for the thread jack here. Just a little round of TW Community Service Standards Enforcement. I hope you have the answer you were looking for.

I change it at 5,000 mile. It usually takes me about 6 months to put that on my truck.
If I were to drive it less, I'd let the truck run for 15 mins every few weeks. Then change the oil once a year.

I understand why they don't want to install anything other than stock. Some people haven't got a clue what will or will not fit on their truck. And see how no one wants to admit fault or stupidity these days, it is likely the installer will get the blame.

Now, here is how I would fix the problem. Print it plainly on the work order and receipt.
" Any damage or wear caused to the tire or vehicle due to improper tire size will not be cover, paid for, fixed, repaired or replaced by the dealer or installer"

You get what you ask for. The rest is on you.

I'd go with 6mos. Some of the additives might start to break down after a while

Did the same thing, but test drove a Tundra 1794, or whatever f*cking year it was. The salesman told me it had something to do with how long Toyota has been in business, or on Saturn,.... I don't remember the spiel. Nice truck, and I really liked burning up their gas for once, but as for a $54K plus tax nice truck? Not for me (Canada).

I usually do 5k on Mobil1 0w-30, but the oil has barely even turned brown by that point. I know, color doesn't have anything to do with how good the oil actually is, but still...

I changed it with the larger Mobil1 filter and Mobil1 Extended Performance 5w-30 at the beginning of the winter. It's going to go until spring purely because I don't want to do it in the cold and snow, which I think will be 7500-8000 miles. If it's more, it's more. The guy on here pushing 400k did lots of long intervals on that oil and, well, he's up to nearly 400k.
