This is about one of the slowest builds out there because I go to school and work very limited amounts during the year, and I have to worry about rent and other expenses..... But, I do get to mod her occasionally, especially during the summers, so why not a build thread?
    As she sits today:
    IMG_1172.jpg
    CURRENT MODS:

    Tires/Wheels/Suspension
    285/70/r17 BF Goodrich KO2s
    17x8 inch Procomp rims
OME front coilover lift with 885 coils
    Toytec rear add-a-leaf

    Armor
Northwest Trail Innovations front plate bumper
Unknown rear plate bumper off of Craigslist (looks like an Allpro)

    Exterior
    Airflow snorkel
    BHLM
    Blacked-out oem-style LED tail lights
    Blacked-out third brake light
    2011 honeycomb grille
KC LZR lights mounted on the A-pillar with Relentless Fab mounts
    Bakflip tonneau cover
    Derped emblems

    Interior
Dash lights swapped to white and blue
    2012 touch-screen radio
    2012+ heater controls
    2012+ clock
Smittybilt clinometer where original compass used to be
Custom-made switch panel for Contura switches
    Hella patches

IN THE WORKS (aka I have them, just not on the truck):
    Allpro IFS skid
    Allpro trans skid

    FUTURE MODS:
    Rear plate bumper
    Dif/LCA/t-case skids
    Sliders
    Exhaust
    ARB air compressor
    Winch
    CB radio
SAS, glass, and 37s (one day)

It all started in 2008 when my dad purchased his brand new double-cab TRD Off Road in silver streak mica (don't have a picture of it as it was originally)

Fast forward a little bit, to the summer of 2014, and I was lucky enough to be handed down that truck, and in the summer of 2016, I formally purchased it from him and had the title transferred over to my name :D my dad opted for another Tacoma, this time an indigo ink access cab TRD Sport.

Early pictures of her, don't have any that are completely bone stock unfortunately.
    [/ATTACH] IMG_2593.jpg IMG_2796.jpg IMG_2866.jpg IMG_2867.jpg :cool::cool::cool: I'll keep this thread updated.

I decided to give the interior a little something extra. My dad had a velcro strip where he put this bluetooth reciever. The velcro strip was pretty ugly. My buddy from the army was on leave and visited this past weekend, and he gave me a unifrom patch of the Ohio flag (my native state). So I decided to make use of the ugly velcro that was on the dash; I bought some more velcro tape, cut it to size, and attached the flag to the old velcro area. I think it turned out pretty good, and it matches the interior nicely.

Just ordered my OME 3" lift kit. The add-a-leafs are on backorder so I'm not sure when it'll come, but once I have it put on I'll upload some pictures

i was actually curious about doing a 2014 OEM stereo face in mine so i can do the iPad and was looking to see if anyone else had done it to an older style like yours and mine. do the clips line up exactly the same?

The clips actually line up perfectly and it bolts in just fine. The only thing is that there is a really small gap between the 2012 headunit and the A/C controls which is not noticeable unless you get underneath and look for it.

I want to do the new A/C controls so that the color matches the headunit, however, one of the pins is different on the new A/C controls. Apparently you can rewire the new pin on to the old wiring and it becomes plug and play, but I have no idea where to find the pin. I looked all around and I can't find anywhere that just sells the pins.

The headunit I did myself, however, you need an adaptor for the radio and a bluetooth mic (otherwise you just have bluetooth). I found this out on a thread somewhere on here because I wanted my radio working, and I bought them, and now I have everything except for aux/usb capability and steering wheel controls. As for the A/C controls, I also saw that on a thread somewhere on here, however I can't recall what the threads were.

Will do! I'll keep researching and see if I can find somewhere that sells the pins and what not.

Finally got the 3" OME lift installed on the front of my truck. I also got some Depo rear tail lights, which look exactly like the stock headlights, but blacked out. I plan on putting new shoes on it after I wear these ones down.

I also got the frame completely de-rusted and rust proofed thanks to Toyota's promotion that was going on in July. Along with the new suspension and the new (looking) frame, she looks almost brand new :D

I wanted my A/C controls to match my 2012 headunit, so I bought the A/C controls out of a 2012 Tacoma and bought the necessary pins and swapped it in. Looks a lot better than the silver and amber lighting one that came with the truck IMO.

Got my gauge cluster LEDs swapped. Wanna give a quick shout out to member Yosh2000 for swapping my LEDs out, he did a fantastic job and for a good price. Would definitely recommend him if you're going to do a swap and don't wanna do it yourself image.jpg

And here's a complete view of the interior at night (don't know why the gauge cluster looks yellow, it's white)

Looks great and your kind of living like me right now. I have a part time job and going to college. You should upgrade your headlights for your next mod. Put some RGB halo rings in it with something that has a better custom look to it.

    For example
    StancedTacoma.jpg
Btw he builds headlights, I'm going to order a set of custom headlights from him by next year.

I was actually thinking about doing that in the future. I still have my stock headlights, so I was thinking about fixing up the lenses, painting all of the chrome on the inside black, and doing a retrofit install. Although I like the look of my Spyder headlights, I do like the look of our stock headlights with a retrofit. I really want to do something like this:
