I have been searching and have come up dry. I believe I saw this on TW, but looking for the post where somebody had inserted some skinny foam roll tucked into the rubber door seals to help make more positive contact. I am looking to do the same thing by slipping some into the seals on the factory bed cover to maintain more pressure on these seals. Any help?

I am no help in finding the actual thread itself but also recall seeing one, I think they used rubber tubing instead of foam and I can see that helping you make a tighter seal doing that.

Search button? Just try using various key word combinations to find the thread.

helped a buddy do this years ago on his leaky bed cover, that said in the brochure "Water resistant" but fine print, said "not waterproof". I forget who made the thing. His was a f150 (8 foot bed maybe?) with smooth plastic cap, with wider/longer/heavier cover. The weatherstripping we used didn't work. it was too thin and just got flat under the weight of the cover.

I THINK (memory is SOOOO bad). We ended up using door weather stripping. It was cheaper than the weatherstripping at pepboys/autozone for car doors.

    https://www.lowes.com/pd/M-D-20-ft-Black-Door-Seal-Silicone-Door-Weatherstrip/1099657

We tried a lot of different things with this because we we couldn't get it perfect the first time.

I believe the end result was to use RTV adhesive and stick the thing TO the bed plastic cap, tapered edge in. the glue on the doorstrip just wasn't robust enough. We sealed the ends to keep air pressure in the door strip so it didn't collapse flat (because it did that). I had gasket sealant so we used that but I guess you could use anything.

It worked GREAT but the air in the strip was TOO much, like an overinflated balloon. So then we put little holes along the weatherstripping to vent the air (not too different than the holes on the inside you see in the door weatherstripping)

That worked real well. Ugly as hell without the cover but it worked well.
