Plastic is cheaper than metal, apparently.

4.88 and adding an ARB up front. Very excited to not have the tranny drop a gear just looking at a hill.

Soon! Have the front sitting in my garage, dropped the rear off last night with @thefatkid for re-gearing this weekend.

Technically 4.56 is the correct ratio for 35s. Due to weight and altitude there are some benefits to running a lower ratio.

295s currently, 315s are the plan in the next year or so.

This^^^ Plus, the 4 speed tranny has a higher gearing than the 5 speed (comes with 3.91 diff gearing instead of 3.73 on the 5 speed) so a bit lower is more appropriate anyway.

It was . . . interesting, LOL. They were not super psyched about it, but they made it through. There were 3 or 4 spots, including the one in the pic above, where we used Lukin's life jacket as a harness to raise or lower them with a rope up or down 15 to 20 foot ledges and crevasses. But, they made it through without harm.

oh damn! nice work...we love slots but having the degs with us usually, we are hesitant about hitting some of the more technical ones...a harness and rope is a good idea though

If you go first you get to catch a terrified dog

I was worried I'd get bit but I think both pups were happy to be caught.

Front in and up and running. Now the arduous process of breaking in gears.

While I had the front diff out, completed a few other upgrades. The first was the last Energy Suspension bushing from the kit, I installed all the others last year as they were easy access, this one you need to pull the diff to get to.

Second was soldering up the ADD motor connections which are a known weak point causing the ADD to not work, I had not had any of the issues yet. All of my connections looked good with no arcing, but an easy piece of mind mod.

With the diff out, it is a 10 minute job, figured I might as well. To note, it looked immaculate inside.

Indeed, every write up says to pull the bolts from the diff, but the one on the top is all but inaccessible while on the truck, so you have to clear the bolt out and then back in the frame hole, which sucks.
