    Hi,
Does anyone run ham/cb/scanner radios in their taco? Just starting to install my amateur station in my 2017 off-road, looking for horror stories on things like RFI and bonding.

    Thanks!

    David

I have a 2017 off road as well. No horror stories! I am running a Kenwood TM-V71A in my truck with no problems at all. The radio is mounted under my driver seat. The control head is mounted on the dash. I drilled a hole in the roof and use an NMO mount.

Here's a website that contains a lot of information relating to radio installations:

    yep..
I'm running 2m/70cm and no problems with interference in or out. Using a nmo lip mount antenna opposite side of the hood as the FM antenna.

I didn't encounter any problems with the headliner. I looked at a few threads online then went for it. I do not have a sunroof. The lights came out, and I pulled off the sun visor. I did all my work from the driver's side of the truck.

I have a friend with a 2016 Sport 4X4 and he runs HF at 100 watts with no problems. His antenna tuner is built into the radio. He uses a screwdriver antenna attached to a mount he designed that is mounted by his rear bumper.

Here's a few threads I looked at regarding the headliner:
