    Howdy ladies and gents!

Please pardon my ignorance. I'm a first time Taco owner, and I browse TacomaWorld.com often, but rarely post or comment. If y'all will bear with me, I'd like to see if you'd point me to where, or what post, listing, or thread or whatever, might be the best place to get some advice/education on OVtune.. as well as to gain some insight on the transmission issues associated with the 3.5L 3rd gen's. I've noticed that mine sometimes searches for higher gear, or spins in neutral for a bit longer than what I would consider normal when changing at speed. However, this is only at highway speeds. I've read someone else report this same issue here also...I gather that OVtune is a tuning, or programming update for the truck CPU(?) that will fix this problem and enhance other aspects? If so, I'd like to know how to get it done. I asked my dealer's maintenance chief, and he flatly refused to do anything that isn't authorized by Toyota. I've read some posts, but I still am not sure I'm clear on exactly what it does, and /or how... again, apologies, I'm a novice in truck modifications also a novice in much of the site decorum, so my bad if I posted in the wrong spot or something. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

You should go back to the dealer and demand the 0.1 liters your engine is missing.

Sorry I can’t be of any real help.

Yeah see, that first line there, I have no idea what any of that means. A TSB(?), buy things(?) ECU is the truck computer(?)

Also be advised that from OVTune themselves, their tune is designed for off road use only:

A TSB is a technical service bulletin issued by Toyota of a known problem that they will fix for free.

Read some of the posts in those links about to get it done.

Just saying but he only puts that to cover his ass. All tuning companies say that so they can’t be bent over by someone who bought the tune

I’m just quoting their policy. CYA is great until it’s your A that needs C.
