Nice! I thought about going to the battery but decided to just use power from the cigarette lighter since I don't charge anything with the vehicle off anyway, plus I was lazy to run more wire. Yeah, the dangling cables were annoying and they would tap my screen and change the song/screen all the time.

Ceramic tint all around except the front doors are hybrid. Installer said it would match the factory rear tint better and still block heat.. I could tell the truck cooled off faster today and you couldn't feel the heat as much.

    Anytime 400w mod

Auto transmission is at the top, and manual transmission is a few paragraphs down

    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/how-to-400w-anytime-mod-3rd-gen.436831/

Post #8 on this thread shows the white and blue wires you'll tap into in order to get the 120v inside the cab. They're on the plug going into the inverter, which is under the center console. I believe blue goes to the big slot of the outlet and white goes to the smaller slot, I really don't remember. I used a T30 torx bit to remove the bed outlet and copied the way it was wired up. For the ground I just ran a wire from the ground prong of the outlet to a grounded piece of metal in the truck.

    Toyota part numbers

    USB ports

    0016-00225

    120v outlet

(It's labeled by Toyota as a "12v outlet" for some reason but it's the 120v household style outlet

    85530-35050-C0

    Bezel/plate

    85536-35020

I don't have a part number for the harness to plug into the 120v outlet, I just made my own by modifying some small terminals. For the USB ports I just spliced into the 12v power for the ports inside the console.

As for cutting the hole, I used post #7 on here as an example. It looks like he cut his with a dremel or saw and jb welded the bezel in. I used a really sharp razor knife and trimmed and filed until mine hole was just the right size for the bezel to snap in without glue. Any method should work fine was long as the hole isn't cut too big.

I used the flush mount usb port from Expedition Essentials. It's a little pricey for what it is and I still had to modify the trim/bezel but it is the only one that seemed to have the USBs on a small enough pc board to fit right above the stereo.

What's going to make you decide if you use the diff drop kit or not?

How do you like them? I'm 6'2" and I worry that I may be a little too tall for them.

Did you seal the top corners behind the cab and tailgate area? I have the same cover and I need to get this done. It’s been a year and a half. I been procrastinating and doing other mods.

    6'2" also with seatjackers.
They help a bit but depending on your torso length the seating in this truck is a compromise and us taller people are compromised.

If there is any wierd vibration happening. Seems to me, after reading on the forum, sometimes lifting a tacoma you get vibes. 2 inch lift is usually an amount that wont give you a vibration, but you never know. Some people will put in a diff drop kit and actually get vibrations from having it.

I’ve been looking into this mod as well. Just not in the budget.

Mine came with two foam squares with adhesive on one side. Just took the front rail off, attached them to both sides, and now there is no front gap in the corners.

LED dome, vanity mirrors, & maplights. 30 min install. 5min to switch to the LEDs, 25min to look for 1 maplight bulb that fell into the black hole between the drivers seat and console.

I installed a carrier bearing drop during my lift. After removing it, the vibes were less. I think my only vibration now is my needle bearing, so I’ll be installing an ECGS bushing as soon as I can find the time

How big of a lift? I was under the assumption that if your 2 inches or under, you should be ok.

I might have installed that foam wrong. I can still see “light” thru that corner.
