Are you telling me your old Generals are bad in the snow? I was intending on using them for the winter :anonymous:

Stoked to try my 35" Viet Cong tires in the snow this winter!

@Snail81 why don't you post your off-road experience comparing the ST Maxx to the Wildpeaks?

I've had Falkens for just a moment and can only compare them to Cooper ST MAXX, but you asked for it...

    1. Daily dry - Falken is slightly better because it's quiet
    2. Daily wet - Falken grabs better
    3. Daily snow - TBD (doubt Falkens will come on top here )
    4. Daily ice - TBD (pretty sure ST MAXX will loose)
    5. Off-road rock - St MAXX dominates
    6. Off - road mud - ST MAXX dominates

    Nah, they’re fine.
I got them this past January (intention was always to switch to dedicated winters this upcoming season) - but nothing - not the grabbers nor the K02s nor any A/T - will perform as good as dedicated winter rubber.

Of course there are different grades of winter tires. I had bottom-feeder Firestone Winterforce UV tires and they were equal/worse than the Duratracs on ice and hardpack. In deep snow, the Duratracs were vastly superior - they could churn while the Winterforce packed up with snow and turned into slicks.

Another thing to consider if going with wildpeaks is they have silica added to the tread compound to improve in the wet & snowy conditions. But that is only available in non LT sizes

Yeah he's running Bridgestone Blizzak DM-V2, which is a good winter tire. Just avoid the $100 cheapies (which are still dedicated winters, just lacking modern tread compound technology).

Depending on your location, get studded winters.

Even an AT tire studded will beat the shit out of any dedicated winter, in winter conditions. I have had dedicated winters, before I knew I should get them studded. I found them lacking, very very lacking in icy conditions.

Studded winters on my CR-V, not even a comparison. Studded 100%, all day.

Cooper ST Maxx studded would be my next choice if i had to choose a winter set again.

Where did you get yours and how much. Haven't ordered mine yet. I kind of like the red Tuck tape look.

Anyone know of a good motorcycle repair shop in the East? Friend is looking for reputable shop with fair prices. He lives in Ajax.

So your wheeling trips make either the world's richest man richer, or the world's 3rd richest man richer (shot of Ardbeg).

Elon must be feeling left out. I don't think buying Taco parts with PayPal makes him richer.
