Put me down as a maybe for right now. Two questions since i have never been to the beach in my Prerunner:

    1. What is a nice and simple way to add a recovery/tow point to the front of my truck?

    2. What are some good recovery straps since i will need to buy one anyways?

Your truck should already have a recovery point in the front.

    Not a tow strap. Lola6uhe7ym_6020d41ea7032225475de90cc4b19e071c864298.jpg

    1. For your front recovery points:
    http://www.tacomaworld.com/forum/off-roading-trails/138114-front-recovery-points.html

    2. Here's one on Amazon.
    http://www.amazon.com/ARB-ARB705US-2-3-Recovery-Strap/dp/B004P9DQLC/

Of course, there's different options available.

That tie down point on your driver's side isn't much for recovery. I imagine it'll work in a pinch for easy pulling, but if your're STUCK I wouldn't pull on it much.

A better (not best) option is to get a tow hook and grade 8 bolts and bolt it to the passenger side where the Offroad Package tow hook would fit. Tow hook like this: http://www.amazon.com/Curt-Manufact...=UTF8&qid=1406557654&sr=8-3&keywords=tow+hook

Disregard front recovery points, acquire new axle.
