Good news for '09-ers who want to get the TSB done...

I just got off the phone with toyota corporate to voice my concern for the existing 3-spring suspension. I explained the whole situation as advised here http://www.tacomaworld.com/forum/2nd-gen-tacomas/29198-how-i-got-tsb-my-2009-a.html.

Using the same methods, particularly voicing safety concerns. When I finished explaining, the woman put me on hold. When she came back she was happy to report that there was a Technical Service Bulletin to fix this problem. I asked her to explain the procdure, and she read me the TSB for the 05-08 that I had printed out and had right in front of me.

I reiterated to her that I had a 2009 Tacoma and she said:

"I have been told that Toyota will now be performing this technical service on 2009 Tacoma's".

So I'm not sure if this has reached the dealerships yet, but a call to Toyota Co. should do the trick.

the woman I spoke to didn't say that there was an offical TSB for '09. Just that she has been told that they are beginning to honor the old TSb for '09's.

I would try again and hope to get another person

I Checked the Toyota Information System 1 minute ago 12:23pm 9-3-2009 and there is no TSB (Harsh Ride) for the 2009 Tacomas. There are 40 applicable TSB's for the '09 Tacoma and I looked at every single one of them.

And by the way the yellow sticker has nothing to do with the rear springs. You can read about the yellow sticker here: Yellow sticker

Argh, still not an official TSB. I just don't want to have to fight with the stealership to have this done to my truck.

No fight at all. Just come back from Fremont Toyota in Fremont CA.
They are ordering the parts and next week Tuesday I have an appointment to have the TSB done. Called in Toyota last week, they got back to me yesterday, and made me an appointment this morning. Went in, told them about my experience with the truck bottoming out in my last camping trip.
The service rep. said: give me a couple of minutes to check my computer.
!0 min. later he asked me when is a good time for me next week?
Of course, I walked in with the copy of the TSB in my hand.
Just like that. I want to add this dealer to the LIST.
    Take care

    Thanks vbibi and nuovo tech.

I just called the SA at the dealership I bought the truck from and told them about my situation and they said "sure, bring it in and we'll take care of it". So now I have an appt to bring it in on Wednesday.

That was way too easy and I'm having doubts. I think I am going to talk to him in person and will have a printout of the TSB just in case. Will update this thread once I found out anything.
