so i read several pages and just wanted to confirm that this abs mod will worl even without 4x4. I have an 09 Sport 2wd with auto LSD. Just looking for a simple abs kill since i dont have a locker or anything else. Ill check later for that small green wire but wanted to make sure that 4x4 and the ywm is not required for this abs kill

The yellow wire mod wouldn't work on a 2005 sr5 4x4 with open diffs, right?

Right, it is to trick the truck's computer into thinking it is in H4 when it really is in L4. That's because in H4, all 2009+ Tacomas (and a few earlier special order models) have TRAC (Traction Control, an electronic/ ABS limited slip system).

In L4, only the Off Road TRD has traction systems (A-TRAC and Locker). This mod gives all non Off Road Tacomas some traction control in low range.

Traction control stops (reduces) free spinning of a tire so that some energy goes to the tire with good traction.

So I've seen a couple guides like this for different models, but I can't find one for a 2008 Sport 6spd equipped only with ABS. I have none of the other stuff. Think this guide could work, even though I don't have Trac?

Is the ABS override different for 2012+ trucks? When I went to cut the light green wire, it wasn't there.

If you don't draw blood, you're doing it wrong!
Could be different, but there are few guys that posted in this thread that it worked on 12+ Sports.

This guy had a different harness, but the same Green wire:

This guy has a 2012 Sport and said it worked for him. Maybe PM him to see what he did or if he has pics:

    Thanks for the write up.

Wanted to note that the green wire mod works on my 2012 4cyl 5 lug 2wd. Green wire was there and turns on/off all the computer controlled aids.

    Thanks for posting your results!

Since there are so many versions/configurations of these trucks, it's good to know which ones this Mod will work for (and which ones it won't).

So I read the entire thread but did not see anyone with a similar rig. I have an 06 Sr5 with 4wd...none of the other fancy traction options you guys seem to have (I don't even have power windows or door locks) manual transmission.

I would like to be able to turn off my abs though....any other threads that cover this package?

Ok I need some input. Need to know if this will work on my truck.

I have a 2015 V6 6spd 4x4. No TRD Offroad, no locker, Not sure if its VSC equipped, not sure if its TRAC equipped?

    Please advise.

Are you trying to do the ABS kill or Yellow Wire Mod?

Does doing the yellow wire mod also make engaging and disengaging 4-lo less of a pita?
