Best method for removing scratches after going thru thick trails

    Wait. For scratches that are into the clear but not thru, heat will heal them out a bit. No sense in rubbing off clear where you don't have to. A light heat gunning might help if you live in cold climates, but a black truck in the sun should do it on its own.

    After two weeks decide if you want to rub / buff / seal / wax. Chances are you'll have less to do.

    Meguiars scratch x followed by their ultimate polish if you cannot feel the scratch with your fingernail.
    Get some buff wheels that fit in your drill off ebay.

    Have had the same issue for years and other trucks I have owned. Last 2 were black. Depends how handy you want to be. I purchased a orbital polisher/buffer
    Groits is the brand. I use three different polishing compounds , 1,2 then #3, different color foam pads, depends on the #compound then a finishing wax. All depends how deep the scratches are. You will remove approx 90 percent plus . Takes time. No swirls either. Invest 100.00-200.00 and it will last a long time. You will pay that just to have a pro do it. Good luck if you go that route. You wont regret it.
