this isn't a how to.ill probably get some blasting for this but I'm wondering/requesting after some empty search results if there is anything out there on the greasing of zerks and joints as is recommended every 30k for those of us doing all our own maintenance.
I could crawl under my truck and just start greasing but I have no idea what the standard procedure is for 2nd gens on the driveshaft, suspension etc. 2012s for me. The thought has started to bug me the more I'm hearing my suspension squeak

I grease all mine with every oil change. U-joints get as many pumps as it takes to get clean grease coming out of all 4 caps. At that time I also do a 5 tire rotation.

I was under the truck this weekend, and could not for the life of me find any zerks, do the newer models have them?

Certain models don't have zerks. Are your trucks 2wd? I'm almost certain the 4wds have zerks. Also, the link above that shows the zerks is not the same across the models that have zerks.

I have a 4wd and no zerks. When my buddy had it up on the alignment rack we looked for them but there were none. I had my drive shaft replaced under warranty last year for some vibes and the one they put on doesn't have zerks. I bought the truck used and never got around to checking the original driveshaft for zerks so I'm not sure if I had them to begin with.

So no grease needed for these models I guess

Reminds me of the sealed transmission unit with "lifetime fluid"

Before my sport, I had an off-road. It definitely had zerks. Are you checking in the right spots. This is where they are on my sport.

Just noticed you said original drive shaft. If that's a different shaft, then that's probably it. Like I said, almost certain 4wd models have the zerks on the oem equipment.

Since I keep it lubed with fresh stuff, I use grease from Walmart. No need to spend extra money for stuff that gets thrown away every 3K miles (yes, I use the old school timeframe).

It was replaced by the dealer with an OEM shaft. I was physically standing under the truck with my buddy who also owns a Tacoma and has greased the driveshaft on his truck, we didn't see any zerks.

The only grease I have ever used that didnt come from Walmart is Lucas which I use for the front wheel bearings on my '40.
