I'm thinking of doing my dual battery setup in the next couple of months, so naturally I've got a few questions before proceeding.

    • Can the stock alternator handle 2 batteries?
    • Did you replace the stock battery with 2 new batteries? or did you go stock + deep cycle?
    • Where did you mount the battery? My plan was to mount the 2nd one in the bed to power all my rear accessories such as lights, fridge, compressor, etc.
    • How did you setup the battery wiring and what would I need?
    • Is a battery management system required?
    • If anyone has a hard shell cap, was there anything challenging with running thicker gauge wire to the front?

    Any input is appreciated!
    Thanks!

Tow package? Pretty sure tow package offers a beefier alternator. That may be a deciding factor. I'm curious to see an answer to your question too!
