And I love it! Easy installation, instructions were detailed and everything came apart and went back together exactly as described. Took less than an hour and I'm extremely pleased with the results. Ordered it from ShopTRD.com for $279, was torn between the TRD and the less expensive URD kit, but I liked the simplicity of replacing the entire lever instead of the two piece URD set up.

Shifting is much more precise now, definitely stiffer shifter action as well although I expect it will loosen up a bit with use. Lever throw is much reduced, literature says 30%, feels like even more, gives the truck a much sportier feel.

Took some before and after pics, not sure how well it shows the change in lever position but here they are...

This is the new and old lever mechanism side by side. The TRD Quickshift is on the left, stock on the right. You can see that the upper lever part is shorter but the lower part is longer on the TRD, changes the fulcrum point in conjunction with a spacer that mounts on top of the transmission under the shift retainer. Actual lever height is unchanged once installed.

After driving it a bit more I suppose I can understand why Toyota went with the easy action long throw shifter instead of just making the TRD quickshifter stock. Goes along with why they made the suspension so damn soft stock as well. Guess they figure lazy Americans want to always be in the lap of luxury, so tried to make the driving experience like sitting on the couch.

Luckily we have the option to get off the couch and make these trucks something that you actually DRIVE, instead of something you just sit on.
