Thanks.... I'm getting closer to a formal plan for this...

I wanted to place the LED's under the truck though.

I'm guessing (from the rest of the research ) that I can pick up a hot wire controlled by the door pin/switch to control the light activitiy...(atleast I hope so) under the scuff plates. It's a matter of finding the right wires.

Next passing wires from outside to inside cab yet maintaining water/weatherproofing. with out drilling holes (I hate that).

Thanks to everyone.....The info here has been very helpful.

I found this wiring diagram....Can anyone decipher it.... Diagram in question is on pg 13....

I am trying to figure out what wire to tap into in order to have lights go on/off with opening door.

Am I right in assuming that G-W would be green and white...B-W Black and white?

    any help is good help...

    thanks to everyone

Would there be any way to wire the lights under the truck to the sensor specific to each door? It might require some splicing of the circuit that turns on the cabin lights into two circuits but I'm not 100% on my wiring skills so don't take this idea to hear just yet, might be too much work for the desired affect.

That would be ideal, however all interior cab switches are in side the cab. I figured out how to route all the wires. I just need to figure out what wires to tap now...

    Thanks

Sorry for my ignorance, but what does tracer mean. Something as stripe?

Thanks for info. Btw if this this pans out I'll trace wires today!

Thanks a lot makaira....05 and 11 wiring hasn't changed. I traced wires today and looks like everything is a go once I can find the time.

Much Mahalos to all the forum members who took the time to help out a NOOB.

    Pictures to follow.....

Awesome! I'm gonna install some small led strips under each of my doors. That way whatever door is opened that light under the door should come on
