I can tell you only my experience: 95 taco with C/Os cranked for over 4.5" of lift, diff drop, no vibes. 2011 taco DCLB pushing 3" of lift on 886s, diff drop, no vibes.

Cheap easy insurance IMO. Am I going to ever install lift in an IFS without it? No, because at a bear minimum it alleviates a small bit of angle on the CVs and the U-joint.

You won't starve the diff of oil, and you don't lose any clearance on the gen 2 if you're running a skid. And look a little further back by the crossmember, your exhaust is the lowest thing on the truck by a longshot.

after reading about rear shock length a few pages back...have a look at the sky jacker h7045's, i run them with no issues paired with my dakars on my reg cab, stock bumpstops, running ome up front also, the truck gets wheeled and fully compressed. these shocks were just a better option imo. compressed is 14.54, extended is 24.75, probably half the price of the ome's. it's only .8 inches extra but it helps. looking to swap out to some procomps next, let me find the details...

I think on the 1st Gen it was a good thing, on the second gen it made little to no difference (about 1 degree)to the CV angle and actually caused vibrations and wobbles for some. I dont think hanging too low was an issue (except for Mike). And I moved my exhaust a while ago :D

I just like the way someone posts a bad thread about something, then a bunch of bad information gets thrown on top of it, then the whole forum flips out about how bad something is. :jerkoff:

You've hit the nail on the head, it's such a minor difference in angles and positioning that it has little effect. IMO I'll take the 1-2 degrees I can alleviate on the CV for what it is. I haven't had a vibe issue on two different Tacos (I beat the hell outta that 95 too), thus my belief it doesn't cause them.

All this horse shit about "starving the diff for oil", because tilting the pumpkin a little is going to stop 90weight from getting slung all over the place in a properly filled pumpkin? Straight douchebaggery.

3 pages was all I could take of a really stupid conversation. Reference my above comment for my understanding of the DD, I know what it does and what it doesn't do.

Honestly, IDGAF. I will NEVER run my truck down any trail full of rocks or obstacles at anything more than 5mph unless it has been SAS'd or LT'd. I will NEVER race my truck, as I need it to get my ass to work. I will leave my DD right where it is knowing that it is nice and safe.

I am of the opinion that if you want to do stupid shit in a vehicle that hasn't been built up properly for the task you are going to destroy things, blame yourself and not effin' the equipment.

The diff drop only rotates the diff on 2nd gens , no benefit

I'm not flipping out, except that one diff-dry statement is so dumb it's painful to read.

And yes, some people have given it thought and come to a conclusion, that's all cool, but it's just opinion based on opinion. I feel like I'm watching the "manifold spacer" thread where the OP can't produce solid dyno results.

In this thread I gave my opinion, and that's it; an opinion, doesn't mean much of nothing. I'm not trying to sell people DD's, nor am I trying to make people run away from them.
