Hey man no problem. My knowledge about modding toyotas before coming here was zero. To answer your qustions.

If you are going with a lift over 2.5, you may want new ucas to be able to have your tires alignment correct. Some members have issues with their alignment after a lift. So factor UCAs into your budget. Extended brake lines (braided steel) is what you want if you plan off roading, this way, your brake lines will not get ripped out under the up and down travel of the wheels. They will be stronger. The differance between the dakars and the aal: The aal requires you to add 1 leaf to your leaf pack on your truck. The dakar leaf pack is an entire new leaf pack. It is designed to give you I think 3 inches of lift, and increase you hauling capacity. I would go that route if you can afford so.

And remeber, after you instal a lift, you MUST have an aligment. All of you previous setting wiil be greatlly off

OME has my vote. I didn't have to put sway bar relocates on mine either. Much better ride that factory too, got 3" out of it.

Rugged ridge isolator kit.
Just ordered the complete front with rear dakars on the 4th! Can't wait to get rid of this 3" pro comp lift.

Only reason I have it is the dealer installed for free due the tires they put on were rubbing.

I will start with, I have read so many lift threads that my eyes are bleeding...

I really like the and the However, I am not sure if this is more than I need. I live in Colorado and the reason I upgrade vehicles is so I can get to some of the places I want to for my landscape photography hobby http://www.jamescasteel.com. My old vehicle wouldn't even make it up Yankee Boy Basin. I know that my taco trd sport stock, with the 255/75/17's I just put on it will make it up there without too much issue. But there are other trails like Schofield Pass or some sections off Engineer Pass that I am unsure of. I used to do this stuff in my FJ40 without thinking about it. Is my stock setup enough or is 2" enough? Could I just get away with putting Billies on the front at .85 with the rest of my stock equipment just to level it?

I don't want to do too much because this is still my daily driver at 300+ miles a week. But I feel I definitely want to do enough. Since this seems to be a fairly active lift thread I figured I would ask for suggestions here instead of creating a new thread. What are your thought?

I see a lot o people saying toytec is better but withe the ome complete kit from wheelers u get new leave packs not add a leaves all new extended brake lines all new shocks for a extra $50 u get ur front coil overs installed and I'd say it's worth it for ease of not have a spring compressor and all new hard ware for everything! My vote goes to ome

Where are you finding this? I see them charging an extra $150 for the coil install, and no mention of free extended break lines. but this is for an 05-current year taco.

It comes with the extended brake lines in the full wheelers package u could be right with the $150 for the coil install. The full package costs $1295 or something.

You could do a Toytec kit with Dakars for about the same price as what Wheelers asks for that OME with the new leaf packs as well.

I generally think you can't go wrong with either setup. I have the Toytec myself but would never say it's "better" than the OME.

Toytec ULK, Light Racing UCA's, OME Dakar rear leaves, ARB Bumper with XRC8 winch, Good Year Duratracs 285/70/17's on 17x9" Level 8 Strike 6's. Leer cap in the winter. Pioneer Double Din with BT, iPod, etc. Boston Acoustic components in all 4 doors with a Sony amp, powered 8" sub. Ultra gauge, Tom Tom...
I also have the ToyTec ULK with the Dakars and LR UCA's. 40,000 miles and going strong. Fantastic on and off-road manners.

Loving it so far, but I don't know anything about the OME front setup except for what I've read here.

I think you couldn't go wrong either way!
