I like your truck. Are you using the stock trd off-road springs? Thinking about buying just the billies for my trd off-road set at 1.75 and the 1.5aal as well.

This is a sick build you have here man. I have been spending hours on the TW site looking for a build to follow, and I wish I would of have found yours a couple weeks ago.

I am doing almost the same wheel/suspension setup as you have done. just received my 5100's on my doorstep today actually, and I will be setting them to 1.75" (Front only). I am also getting the exact same wheels with probably the Nitto Terra Grapplers A/T. My question to you is, do you plan on getting 255's in the future when you get new tires? Or would you prefer going with 265's or even 275s? I just cannot decide on if a bigger tire than yours would look good with the -12 offset and only 1.75" lift. Then again, you also save a chunk of money with going with the smaller tiers (and they look awesome with the current offset).

    Thanks!

To answer your question, 255s and 265s are roughly the same size. When I replace my tires I'll probably end up going with Duratracs in a 265 (just because that's the size they are available in). The only reason I went with 255s is because I wanted Trail Grapplers and 265s weren't available in a C load range. I was trying to avoid running an E range tire because of the added stiffness to the on road ride.

I don't think you would see a noticeable difference between 255s and 265s. I'd stay away from 275s unless you are willing to do some trimming. At 1.75 you are going to rub pretty good with 275s without some mods.

I think I will just stick with the Terra Grapplers then (probably SL rating). The Duratrac is a sick looking tire, but I won't be doing hardly any off roading with where my current job has me so I would benefit from the Nitto's price a lot more.

Thanks for such a quick reply!

Sweet truck man. Looking good so far. I was just reading through your thread because you are running 255/75/17 tires. I am looking at getting method standards with Duratracs in that 255/75/17. FYI, they have them now!

It looks just like it did the day I painted it.

I know this thread is old, but hopefully you respond.
I see you're running 255/75/17's. And that your wheels are 17x9. Have you encountered any issues at all? I've been searching for months on this. I want that same sized tire (not necessarily same brand) and wheel but every forum on the internet says the maximum wheel width with 255's is 8.5".
Is this not true? Or is it specific to tire brand/model? eg: youre running Trail Grapplers which work for you. Say i ran BFG.... Would it not work for me?
The claim is that 255 can only run wheel width between 7-8.5".
I'm just afraid of ordering wheels and getting tires and it not working.

I haven't had any problems. I'm now running Duratracs in the same size and still haven't had any problems. The only way I would foresee an issue would be if you aired way down.

Do you find it to really be an exact match? Did you have to wet sand the clear coat? Thanks.

Yes, the color is spot on. I didn't wet sand so they aren't as glossy, but it isn't noticeable at all. I've been asked several times how I got color matched mirrors and door handles on an Off Road.

Yes, it matched great as well. I did end up eventually buying a color matched surround because when you inevitably get rock chips the silver really stands out.

That was my fear of painting the chrome surround. Thanks for the info.
