I'm wanting to combine my turn signals and running lights into one bulb with the switchback leds. I have already done the blinker relocation to my corner lights but the blinker is hard to see when the corner lights are on.
However, I have amber colored corner lights and would like them to stay amber, but I cant find a switchback bulb that is amber/amber. Does anyone know of one that exists? Or can I splice in my running lights wire to my turn signal bulb socket to do the same thing?

    Thanks!

I went through the same thought process but didn’t find amber/amber switchbacks either. You could use relay logic and a mechanical delay relay to implement the logic or find a solid state controller. I didn’t want to rely on that many relays for signals and didn’t find the needed controller circuit on the net so I figured I need to design a simple circuit for it. Just a couple logic gates, a mosfet, and a timer circuit. I was going to do that in a couple months and post the circuit if something doesn’t turn up.

I put in Amber/Amber LEDs in the DRLs/turn signals in my 2014. Got them from JumpersLEDs, member @csjumper2003.

Okay thanks! I think I'm just going to end up doing what you did. I do love the amber corner lights but I think white LED will look good as well.

Dang, that seems complex. I think its just a liiiiittle out of my scope of electrical knowledge to do, but thank you for the idea!

Thanks KactusJack for the pointer, I'll follow up with your reference. I was hoping to find something and keep it simple and csjumper may have that, will report back if I end up coming up with something different.

Hey Colchicine thanks for linking that kit. It looks like it has a rubber 'fits all' seal that jams in the hole in the corner light. Is that right-- and are you happy with how that seals up the light body, or does it need silicone and attention in the winter?

Colchicine, did you have to change the wiring to have your signal/blinker constantly on as a DRL? I was looking into getting a switchback White/Amber LED for my signal lights to have the option to use them as DRLs but still blink/signal. Thanks!

I had to change the wiring over to a relay that is triggered by a wire that only comes on with the engine.
I wanted to change the signal light over to a switch back as well, but I couldn't find a kit that would fit the small bulb and socket that is in that lens.

@Colchicine and @kdxrider199 do they sell 1157 sockets to fit your housings? would be the easiest way to make it work without the need for relays

for the corner light switchback you have to use the kit colchicine linked, drill and silicone in a second bulb, or use a switchback controller that both on and flashing modes drive the stock socket which can be upgraded with LED.

For the turn signals (below front bumper) the fog light mod thread shows the right switchback bulb to use but you need to upgrade your sockets to have the 3rd wire as they only stuffed 2/3 pin locations at the factory.

Yes, that's if you want the amber/amber type blinker.

the "turn signal mod" can just use a different socket, no need for two lights unless you want to go that route. either works though. I'm working on fitting a 7443 (dual-function) into the corners

it's whatever bulb you have, so it can be white/amber or amber/amber

I guess I should have updated this thread... I completed this mod using this thread and a few other forums. But I put the blinkers in my corner lights as opposed to in the stock location. If you guys are interested I can try to do a write up of what exactly I did, but it may take some time. I really do recommend this mod though, its great.
