Huge thread about them at FJC.com. A lot of FJ'ers are running treadwright tires without issues, in many cases reporting that they take less weight to balance.

I bought my set of 285/70/17 BFG AT lookalikes a few months ago and they have performed just fine so far on and off road. They did take less weight to balance than the "real" BFG AT's they replaced. I'd recommend.

I researched the crap out of these tires. Was considering them. I have read nothing but good about them from anyone who has ever actually owned then. They all say their customer service is top notch as well. They are DOT approved... Only negative I have ever heard from people anywhere, all comes from people with no first hand experience.

I'm currently running three Warden A/T's and one Original BFG KO, and I can barely tell them apart... I probably have 1,000 miles on them now... These are the REAL deal. I've wheeled the shit out of them, hit massive potholes (on accident) and have a few road trips on them. They run smooth!

Almost 10,000 miles here on some bfg ko versions. Not one problem.

I got over 30k on mine, They handle great... I've gone down to 5psi in them and they still hold up. Carried about 1800lbs in the bed and they are fine.

I found a jeep site where a guy has been updating his thread nearly 3 yrs now and not one complaint. Perfect wear, loves the on road behavior and abiltiy offroad as well. There are hundreds of FJ and jeep owners using these tires no different than buying tires from any other place with the exception that I have found less complaints about these and heard nothing but the best of experiences with Treadwright.

Update on my 285/70/17 Guard Dogs. I bought them off of craigslist with about 5k miles on them. I've put about another 10k miles on them and they seem like they're getting louder. I'm thinking about swapping them for some Wardens.

Early update. So I still haven't clocked more than 6K on any one set, but they are holding up well. We are so impressed, I just purchased our 12th set of Gaurd Dogs, so we are effectively running 60 of their tires in harsh conditions, on 3/4 ton trucks, fully loaded. As for longevity to the average user, I won't be a good study case; we only get 20k out of any tire: BFG, Hankook, Yokihama, in the terrain we run. The Sierras aren't so bad, but our winter season is in the Mojave... super tough terran on tires any brand you slice it.

Out of the 60 tires I've purchased, only 1 had a problem: there was a weird bubble at the shoulder where the TW tread was bonded. It wasn't bad but I was still concerned so I called TW, they got a free replacement to me in 3 days and showed great customer/warranty service.

I have gone to rotating the TWs at every oil change, 3-4k miles and they are wearing well. I did have one set chunk up the rears a bit, but I attribute driver error: towing a dump trailer up a long rocky grade in 2wd; would have messed up any tire IMO.

I've also put 2 sets of the Warden (BFG AT look-alike) on 2 of our 1/2 Chevys, so far so good.

Note: The TWs do run a little big, so if you fit 285 BFG KMs real close on your Taco, the 285 in the TWs might rub...

bump for a question. ive read nearly this whole thread and i still don't know the answer. im looking at getting a set of these

    the warden 265/75/16s
    [IMG]
    https://treadwright.com/p-92-265-75r16-warden-c.aspx

my question, will these say "bfg all terrain" on the side wall? i honestly wouldn't go around telling people they were bjg's, hell, i'd be proud to tell them how much money i saved. but i can't lie, id feel a little weird driving around on one that said some random brand. so i guess the basis of my question is - do all the sidewalls on the all terrains say "bfg all terrain" or is it just a random chance on what you get when they retread it? thanks.

I got these but in 285/70/17s. If you order them just be sure to mention you want all BFG All terrain cores, just incase so you dont get a matched set. They are fine with special orders. They try to match them, but if in a rush they might send one or two different from what I've seen online. My set looks just like the BFGs, but you can tell they are retreads if you looks closer. It is half the price for the set tho compared to the real ones.

One of mine started to get a crack on the side, but doesn't seem to be an issue. I can't post a pic cause photobucket's acting funny. I'll post it later...You'll be able to see how the tire looks from side

cool deal man, thanks. . . i got no lift so im just hanging with 265/75/16's and ive heard nothing but good things about these tires and the companies customer service. im a major tight wad, so these seem like the tires for me. i'll make sure i emphasize what i want when (if) i order them. i don't mind waiting if i have to so they're all matched.

Here's a recent shot, you can see the BFG core and the retread that says Treadwright.

Here's more pics of the cut/crack I recently noticed on one tire. The second one is of other tire. I can't confirm if its been cut, or if it cracked with the recent heat....

retreads are dangerous...cheap though.. if i was running long distances on them.. i would not trust them... but for a fun fuck around tire.. i'd say hell yeah. But when it comes to transporting the loved ones around .. no way..

I would buy a second set a rims and put the retards on them for weekend fun..

    do as u please..have fun..

I know it's been answered here but, FWIW, this is covered in the Treadwright FAQs. (Scroll down to the "Can I get tires with matching casings (cores)?" entry.)

Do you have any empirical data to support your claim?
