    Thank you very much for a quality job, @05Taco4x4!! I got my new hubs installed today. The first one took awhile since I installed the dust cover backwards like an idiot, and didn’t realize it until the caliper would not go back on, lol. The second side when smooth as silk having already done it once.

    My truck is WAY quieter now. What I thought was tire noise was really shot bearings. Thanks again!!

    OME's w/ 887 Coils, SPC UCA's, 285 ST Maxx. Mobtown sliders & skid
    CV dust seal was the culprit. It was bent back which created that gap. Replaced on both sides yesterday and it's perfect. Thanks @05Taco4x4!

    I still can’t believe how much quieter my truck is now. My bearings were way worse than I thought, but I attributed the noise to the tires.

    Got my bearings yesterday! As others have mentioned they were packed extremely well. I will be tackling this job today. Are the dust seals a must do? Or is it just dependent on the condition of the old ones? I plan to change them just for cheap insurance. I figure at 165k it can’t hurt.

    Interesting, looks like 4runners use a 36mm axle nut. I’m certain my Taco was 35mm.

    Btw, don’t forget to reinstall the dust shield!

    And remember that the open side needs to be on the caliper side, so you can install the caliper. Don’t be like me and forget to put it on, only to disassemble everything then install it backwards. There are dimples that line up but it’s still possible to line up the dimples and it still be upside down.
