I've seen a basic stainless bracket under the hood of Buff's 2012 that looked good, he had a friend with the sheet metal stock & a way to bend it clean. So I purchased a marine use fuse panel I want to mount in the same way & my plan is to order up a custom cut & bent stainless bracket that would bolt to the drivers side inside the hood, it would look like a little stainless shelf to mount things on.

I bring this up because ordering more than one will lower the cost per person significantly. I haven't drawn it up in cad yet so I don't know what the cost will be, just putting the feeler out, who else might want one??

EDIT -- NEW THREAD FOR ORDERING IF YOU WANT TO SKIP AHEAD--

Here's what i came up with doing a quick BS no measurements yet since i'm away from my truck at the moment.

Seems it would be cheaper to make it out of aluminum rather than stainless, i also plan on adding some holes to the shelf part for bolting on a fuse panel and maybe some holes for running zip ties through to strap the wires down clean.

Cost wise - If i get two of these made up they're gonna cost like $90 each for me to ship them around. If we get 10 people on board for this it brings it down to like $40 each, shipped.

When i get home ill take proper measurements, and adjust the drawing accordingly. I'll also get a shot of under the hood where i expect this to go.

Interested, although I'm also considering locating my BlueSea fuse block inside the cab.

Thanks for the links, those are all hitting around what I am looking at doing. Same spot in the engine, also I have a blue sea that I would probably have the holes pre drilled for.

Stay tuned for me to get home next week to take measurements, make a final design & then we can get serious about ordering them up. Would love to order up 10+ to drop costs for everyone!

Also I was looking at making small Z brackets that slip under the bed mounting tracks for hanging led lights on. They would catch the stock bolts so there would be no extra drilling in the composite bed material. Would these appeal to anyone? More to follow on that...

Got the time to pop the hood today to measure up the bracket plan, and also to install my Relentless hood CB mount :D

The fuse panel bracket plan is as follows, 8.5"X6.5" top plate with 2" bent sides out of either aluminium 5054 or stainless 304 .062 thickness. holes drilled for bolting to the two holes on the side of the truck will be drilled through the plate just over 5/16" diameter and they are 3" apart.

on the top plate holes are planned for the Bluesea systems 6 circut+ negative bus panel mine is model #PN 5025 the holes are just over 3/16" diameter and are 3 7/8" apart and 2 1/2" wide. You are welcome to drill your own holes as well or i can leave the top blank and you can do whatever you want.

The side tabs on the top plate will help give a little extra support and should rest of the back mounting bend.

The bend for the mount side is bent to 92deg as it seems the holes aren't exactly at a 90.

Prices - assuming i can locate the correct bolts at the hardware store, i will ship these for $40 for a aluminum or $50 for stainless. I am leaning towards getting them all in aluminum to keep the cost down and make it easier to drill holes in later.

Prices are assuming 10 people want these. I don't mind floating the cost of 2-3 but i would like to get some funds from interested party's before i order. It will take 4 days or so for them to be ready, then another few for them to ship to my house, and a few more days for me to individually pack and ship to 10 people. so from the time we order i would like them to you in 2 weeks- ish

Also to be clear, im not going to be doing individual requests per person on holes and material. please all discuss and come to a consensus on what i should order and all will arrive the same.

photos are of the truck compartment, should see the holes for mounting, also made a cheap cardboard mock up, and then the last is the cad photo of the designed product.

Sorry. It's been hectic here. My neighbor just happened to have some SS that already was bent. We just cut it for the application. We cut the section that attaches to the existing fender bolt holes longer than the shelf so i retained access to the items below.

Using aluminum would be a hell of a lot easier lol. Hope this helps!

soo i'm standing by to order up about 10 of these and get them out to people. Just waiting to see some commitments so i'm not left holding the bag.

Lets say its coming in aluminum, with the holes i mentioned above drilled, with hardware and shipping for $40, and ill drop it to $35 if we get over 10 people to commit.

PM me if you want in and i'll update the forum with a list of those who are all in.

I just built something a lot like what you posted up!

It's holding my blue sea fuse block

I'll post it up here. I'm not extremely proud of the looks of my work, but it works very well. I found a couple bolts to mount to. I used the bolt that goes to ground from the battery and I used the bolt that mounts the factory fuse box. Because of this, my steel mount is grounded ( kinda ironic considering I'm mounting a fuse block on it... but I've made sure everything is insulated well. I am also going to fuse the wire right at the battery just incase something goes wrong, I won't kill my battery. I need to go buy an inline fuse tomorrow though...

i haven't gone down to the hardware store yet to figure it out. I will hopefully next week. I used to work at the local store so i just grab handfuls of bolts and walk out to the parking lot before paying. pop the hood, figure it out, then put back what i don't want and buy what i need.

Theres a new thread on this here>
    http://www.tacomaworld.com/forum/2n...nting-bracket-bluesea-systems-fuse-block.html

these brackets should be in by next week some time, then i will be mounting one, selling 9.
