So far my average has been around 21mpg with a stock 2WD Prerunner, I'm getting up there in age so I try to go the speed limit. My RPM's usually stay around 1,500 going the speed limit. Hope this helps!

The best I have achieved so far is 17.8 mpg and the worst is 13.2 mpg towing an aluminum boat. (that's driving pretty conservatively)
Not very good in my opinion.
Truck is fairly new still and is a manual transmission.

Best: 22 MPG on 2 consecutive tanks (road trip!)
    Average: 18-19mpg around town.

But, the car I traded in, a 99 Explorer? 15 big MPGs. So I'm happy as a clam.

Wao this thread is old... I have yet to get better than 15.x on my truck and that is with some highway thrown in. What can I say. It's a truck, I would be pissed if I consistently got under 15. 15 is what I expect, anything better is gravy. I live in very hilly areas, and my highways are not highways they are mountains with roads. So... That is that. I remember when I had the 08 OR I got 23MPG once on a trip to Providence. I was a happy camper.

I changed over to Corolla momentarily and never got under 30MPG and even got 40MPG but hated driving it and felt like a grandma when I drove it. So here I am with a 2010 now and while it stings at the pump I will not complain cause it is a truck.

Simple fact of the matter with this type of argument is this:

    It's smaller than a fullsize.

It gets comparable MPG to a fullsize.

It should get much better than a fullsize.

Now, people do skew figures (on both ends), but I get a consistent 17mpg mostly highway driving in the winter with 265/75/16s, everything else stock (sometimes 18mpg, sometimes 16mpg).

That's probably about 2-3 mpg at BEST better than a fullsize. Not a huge discrepancy (again depending on your budget).

I get horrible gas mileage, and I dont drive crazy anymore. I get around 14-15 city/hwy mix. When I would go to work, 77 miles one way over 2 summits, I would get 16.5ish, I dont know why. Freeway driving at 75 drops me down to about 13

if u do 70mph (aka 2k rpms) then u'll see a bump. u go over that and it starts to tank bad...also take into account the ODO is wrong too w/ the 285's

I have 265-70-17 Goodyear silent armor. I drive between LA and San Diego frequently. With my tires at 35 PSI I would get about 175 miles at half tank, I always fill up in SD. Today before my commute I experimented with 40 PSI all around, since my tire's have an 80 PSI max load, anyhow, when I reached half tank the gauge showed 200 miles. A decent improvement. I'm not sure what's going to happen with the treadwear, but I'll do the chalk test to see if I have uneven wear. Hope this helps.

Picked up a 2010 4x4 access cab with a TRD Off Road Package and a V-6 engine two weeks ago. I live in West Allis, Wisconsin and we are plagued with reformulated gas. First fill was 17.2 MPG mostly city, and the second drink produced 19.4 mostly highway. During this time frame the temperatures were quite mild for this time of year. However, this third fill saw only 13 MPG with all city driving. Now the weather has been very cold, in the single digets, so I know this has a big affect. Bacelona Red sure looks good with a snowy background..;)!

I'm struggling to get 300 miles out a 20 gallon tank! I thought it would be a little better than this. I guess I will find out after winter if it gets any better
