Okay now that I've decided to be part of the group buy I have to rethink how I'm going to set it up on my truck, any ideas? My end goal of the truck is survival camping. I want to be able to go pretty much anywhere take my tools and gear with me and have everything accessible. Long term plans are 360* spot/flood lights around the truck think EOD style for camp setup. I may eventually get the bed of another truck to make into a trailer with off road tires and a lift with cap. I did a search but didn't come up with anything.

Or if you aren't ready for a trailer, mount it on a roof rack or a bed rack or a cap. Then you have the bed for storage

Check out this thread for ideas. Might help you decide which tent you want too.

New tents remain a mystery, Bobby said they should be on the site early march for group by tho.

Right now the biggest is the Ranier at 8x6 feet..... So 4 would be tight(worse if anyone i over 6 foot tall).... 5 doable if you include the annex and a cot or something.

I have the Mt. McKinnley, it is 96" x 87" (8' x 7'3") it can sleep up to 6 people depending on their size. I have some pictures posted on this thread and The RTT owners thread ( with BS). The tent and annex or pretty big.

I'm getting the Mt Hood. I keep counting down the days to the GB. I'll be putting mine on a Thule Xsporter bed rack. That way I can lower it when driving or raise it above cab if I need the extra bed room. Cannot wait.

The biggest one we have will still be the Mt. McKinley. The other tents coming are new styles and different uses for trailers....that is all I am saying. Lol

Can't wait, great to meet you in PA last weekend and review the goods.

For all of you dog owners out there, I'd have no problem hoisting my black lab up into the tent which was mounted on the bed of a 1st gen Tacoma.

I'll be mounting using the same Thule rack northernco referenced so I can raise and lower as needed.

    Thanks Bobby!

Just FYI, 1" sch.40 pipe is pretty cheap and makes a good rack. The OD is roughly 1.3125". $19/21' stick. Will be buying two sticks to make a larger rack for my MT.RAINIER that I'm gonna get in the GB
