Really Need Help Transmission Issue???

Ok here is what is happening. When I take off from a stop normal at lower rpms not really getting on the gas my truck (2006 TRD) vibrates/shakes violently when it shifts the first couple gears (auto trans.) When I say it is vibrating/shaking I don't mean once, it is continuous and will keep doing it until I stop it. When it starts this if I mash the gas and accelerate quickly it will stop, or if I let off the gas it will stop. It will not do it at all if I get on the gas and accelerate pretty quick from the start it shifts fine then.

Now heres another thing. It only does it when the gear shit is in D. If I bump it over to 4 and take of from a stop with it on 4 I can accelerate normal at the lower rpms and it will shift through all of the gears perfectly fine. I've tried and tried to get it to do it starting with it in the 4 position and it will not do it. I can get it to do it every single time if it is in D.

The only lights that are on are the ABS and Brake light. It shows code C0210 Right Rear Wheel Speed Sensor. Could this possibly cause this? Or is it related to something else

Thank you for any help. I am really hoping I don't have to replace the transmission.

When was your last engine tune up ?
Have you removed your driveshaft and checked your u joints ?

 

Logically, I'd think that with the ABS light on, ABS is disabled due to a fault detected. That being said, I once had an 89 Chevy Astro van where the ABS went ape-shit one night while my wife, kids and I were out looking at Christmas decorations. Very similar problem, shuddering like mad on take-off. I knew where the ABS computer was, so I pulled over and popped the connector free, and the drive went normally from that point on. I wonder if it is possible for your shift linkage to be out a bit? The service manual describes how the linkage should be set...

Did you ever find out what the problem is and/or how to fix it?? Sorry I can't help you but mine has been doing exactly what you described.
My ABS and brakes lights are not on. I have no warning lights on. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Engine mounts been checked?

 

Sorry no I never found out what was wrong. I actually traded the truck in for a Tundra.

 

If folks out there are having similar shaking issues when taking off from stand still or during acceleration it most likely is the drive shaft U joints. I had a very similar issue a while back where my truck would shake/vibrate when accelerating and it wind up that two of my three drive shaft u-joints where bad. rides smooth now.

 

I couldnt agree more . The problem is guys dont check them properly . You gotta pull the driveshaft off to check the universal joints properly .
If you lube them at every oil change , you shouldnt have a problem with universal joints

Out of curiosity, my truck always had a slight shimmy from take off. I don't really notice it nowadays due to my duracraps, but what would be causing my shimmy from a new truck stand point.

Assuming you have a new truck and your universal joints are brand new , I would suggest researching axle wrap .
As soon as you add aftermarket rims or tires , the problem escalates Our wheels are hub centric . Any kind of aftermarket wheel and you will shake if not properly balanced

 

They were new. Truck has about 37k miles now. It always had a shimmy from the day I bought it. (Brand new) My shimmy comes from hard acceleration, could that still be due to some form axle wrap? My duratracs don't help at all. Different garages have had problems getting them balanced. Plus my wheels are lug centric.

 

Some guys are getting owned because they didnt road force balance their tires using the Haweka adpater tsu00296.pdf
