Trying to help my father-in-law. He has a 2013 Tacoma with the below touch screen radio.

Question 1: Is there a way he can add navigation to this unit and if so what is needed?

Question 2: If he needs a whole new radio, what OEM radios with nav will work and what other harnesses are required?

    Thanks!

Can't add Nav to that one, and you would need a new 2014-2015 Navigation Ready receiver, GPS antenna. From people have said the Nav sucks you would be better off buying an aftermarket deck with GPS built in.

That helps get me started. I'll see if he is open to aftermarket but I am guessing he wants to go OEM.

    Just to be clear
    1) No 2013 Tacoma came with nav?
    2) For the 2014/15 radios what is the difference between the JBL & Non Nav radios? Harnesses the same?
    3) Is a 14/15 radio bezel needed as well? Are the bezels the same for the jbl and non?

Not sure on any of the JBL stuff as it was overpriced garbage to me. I ripped the Entune Unit out of my 15 3 weeks after I bought it. I don't think your Bezel is the same as the 2014-2015

Looking on AutoTrader I am seeing many '13 Tacomas with Nav... So there is a Nav radio for the 13?

Has anyone done a comparison of the 2012/13 nav system to the 2014/15 nav system?

If you can put a Factory nav in for less that $500, its a decent route. I have a 15 with nav, and its a straight POS! Benefits of an aftermarket nav unit, warranty and firmware updates.
