Well, i don't have a lot to make you change your mind haha

35s do put on more strain and the overall gains offroad are...small in comparison. Still awesome though.

If its not your DD anymore, i say go for it.

If it is your DD, id say stick to 33s. I know my double cab will never get bigger then 33s as long at its my DD.

Thats just me though. Plenty of dudes here DD with 35s.

I put a Detroit in Dylan's and I could tell it would be a bitch. The 7.5 has a few quarks. The master install kit doesn't come with the right pinion nut or thin enough carrier shims. My gear installer had to use the ARB shims because they are thinner and have ecgs send the correct nut. Nothing I had to deal with as he took care of it which made it nice.

even worse on the 8.4'' None of the shims fit. Too small of diameter. Toyota uses "washer plates" not shims. So you just have to measure your back lash then order from toyota what you think you need and them measure again once you get them. Its stupid.

Yeah I was a little thrown by the thick washers. I much rather have the adjusters of the 8 inch.

If you wheel, and I mean a lot they are worth it. However for 99% of the guys on here they probably don't need 35s. 33s will do pretty much everything these trucks are capable of.

    I am monte..lol

34s aren't worth it at all IMO. Still gonna have to tub, just not as much.

33s are the best tire size for sure all around.

    Exactly!

If if sees more dirt the pavement and used that as an offroad truck. totally worth it. If it doesn't, eh, i don't think it is. 33s and skids will go pretty much 90% of the places 35s could im sure.

damn near id say. There are some places that 35s would be better then 32s. Plus i won't bash my skids near as much. I know on a trail out here, Ben REALLY had to concentrate to get his lines right to protect his under carriage. I...did not haha

but mike with 33s and full skids didn't REALLY have to much either.

Ok i've been lurking on here way to long, time to post.

Hows the steering? I have hella steering issues right now, fluid leaks everywhere and I don't know what else could cause it short of a new rack, has a new pump. Turns fine in 2WD, but the Aussie up front doesn't seem to want it to turn in 4lo, but I have no idea how these two would even be related while stationary. This is all with 265s, I can't imagine a 35x12.5 (about what a 315 is).

Trucks a DD, i'd probably try to install some 5.29s myself. Just worried about small stupid stuff, like CVs, steering, etc

Also used 20ga. I wanted to use 16 but its too stiff to shape it without real body work tools.

You better have one hell of a nice shop with a shit load of tools including diff specialty tools, tons of patience and at be able to afford the truck down for up to a month if you're planning on doing your own reagearing.

    Ask me how i know..

But before you even think about 35s. Fix your steering. It should feel easy with that size of tire. You have an issue somewhere. Though running an auto locker up front could be the cause. A locked front does not like to turn. Could be an issue with the aussie.

I just can't find the steering issue... i'm gonna order a Marlin rack soon before I do this, but if I still have issues i'm just shooting myself in the foot.

Buddy and I are gonna do his Jeep end of the month, see how it goes I suppose. I lack patience but it wouldn't be the first time the trucks been down a month. I'll just do it in December when theres no school.

And I do honestly regret the Aussie. However, I don't see how the truck being stationary, the Aussie would prevent it from steering. However, I can whip it while stopped in 2WD (still leaks fluid don't worry). It'll turn, feels like an old military truck with no PS if not worse, pops a sec, loses a bit of res then stiffens up. So its def. something to do with the Aussie. However, its stopped and the wheels aren't turning. Its perplexing as to why it happens to me...

I don't want to pull the damn front carrier apart again :frusty:
