I've had BFG ATs on my truck for awhile now and it's time to replace tires. This was my first set of All-Terrains ever (I've always had MTs of some sort: Dunlop MTs and Cooper MTs most recently). I don't take this truck off-road as much as I used to and wanted a better tire for the highway, but still want them to look nice. I love the look and performance of my BFGs, but I'm thinking about trying the Goodyear Duratracs. Concerns: Road noise, Comfort, and MPGs. Like I said, this truck is a daily driver and I will be doing a lot of highway miles. Has anyone had them both on their truck and can give any actual feedback? I've read reviews and they go both ways about road noise and performance...

    p.s. I'm running 285/75-16s

Ive worked at Goodyear for about 4 years now and the duratracks are prob the best truck tire goodyear makes. Ill be honest with you though, I am not a big fan of goodyear's tires! They wear crappy, they balance crappy, and have belt slips often. I have always rode with Bridgstone,BFG's Or Michelin tires and my boss has never been happy with me for it but hey- its my truck! Those 3 are the best in my opinion but make your own mind up.

Ive had the duratracs for bout 4.5K now and I love em! They have excellent traction, but there is a little road noise. However it is much less than you would think. I hardly noticed any change in MPGs(265/75/16 from 265/70/17 stockers). Comfort is good and they were balanced with no big issues. A few guys on here have switched from the BFGs to duratracs due to a big hit in MPGs. If i get 40-50K out of these ill get them again

heres a thread bout the duratracs: http://www.tacomaworld.com/forum/wheels-tires/74843-goodyear-wrangler-duratracs.html

I had 33" Duratracs on my 2nd gen, and just switched to 35" BFG ATs. Should have gone with the Duratracs... Both are good tires but I liked my Duratracs much more. The look and the off road performance.

my duratracs are the best tires ive ever had IMO. Had the bfg a/t's on my '93 4runner but they didnt do too well on wet pavement. My duratracs grip up everywhere i go especially offroad (mud) and wet pavement
