i just ordered the anytime backup mod kit that includes wiring for a front camera but I'm not sure what camera to use.

I want something with good clarity and as similar to stock, so it'll look factory on screen, as a possible.

For those of you that have done the mod what did you use in the way of camera? And where's a good place to pick up OEM style switches? Thinking of using that little cubby to the left of the wheel but I think rear anytime and front camera would require two switches.

    Let's see what y'all got.

I installed this camera https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00P2EN5J2 , which goes in the emblem. Note, this is a 12v camera, not 6v like the stock rear camera. Not super happy with it, but I haven't looked for anything better...

There didn't really seem to be any plug-and-play harnesses available at the time when I did mine, so I built my own no-cut harness based on schematics by https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads...ass-homelink-smartphone-mirroring-mod.473033/

I used (just) the connectors from Axxess AX-TOYCAM3 for the 24 pin connections
https://www.ebay.com/itm/Axxess-AX-...837041?hash=item33c59e9731:g:X08AAOSwhQhY5~FH and the 28 pin connections by jshsltr https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads...ter-and-oem-style-camera-gps-switches.458293/

I used a double throw switch to give forward camera or rear camera anytime function, but because of the tiny switch i used, I had to use a double throw relay. Some more discussion here https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads...off-roading-and-parking.507067/#post-15891753

    My installation:

Just ordered my camera, already have the HIA cable installed. I post photos once it's done (and if I'm happy with it. Ha)

It'd be nice to see what I'm driving over going up hill. I was interested in the kit as well. Looking forward to update on how the install goes.

I'm looking into the audiovox ACA200W another user had chose that one and the camera looked really good on screen. I just wanted to see what others had used

Subbed - a front camera is almost a must with the sport skewp!

That’s mine! Works good but I’m spoiled by high resolution so I wish we could have better cameras on our vehicles.

That’s pretty slick. Just wondering if you can adjust the angle? If I purchased, I’d want to point it down even more. Maybe until just the tip of the bumper could be seen.

With that camera, you can't adjust (unless you build some kind of weird spacer with a 3d printer). I would probably not go with that camera again, I would go with a more universal design and just build a little bracket to hold behind the grill that can be set to any angle. Especially as I want to get rid of the chrome grill. Not seeing the front bumper really sucks.

Here is similar to what i got:

170° Wide Degree CCD Car Front View Camera Logo Embedded Waterproof For Toyota ebay Item http://r.ebay.com/s7Dxpi

    BF0D2569-20F8-44CC-B039-E76145016C3F.jpg

    AF0E0EC4-9F30-4CAD-9196-4390F64039A4.jpg

Sorry, got some reflection of the map lights in the pic also, the horizontal lines in the screen pic is not there in real life. Dont know why it appears only when i take a picture if it. Quality seems decent, but i want more of the front bumper so looking for a 180 degree view front camera, it anyone else has found one.

I also got these two switches in the middle from CH4X4 custom made to order.
