I had a really cool click noise with my new truck only when I hit bumps. Checked seat tightness and and seat belts put my arm on top of passenger seat it would go away over the bumps. Somewhere between the seat and the rear console finally tightened up the bolts in the console, they weren't actually very tight. Sound has stopped. From the posts sounds like I have more noises to look forward to. At least I have some ideas from posters where the noises may come from. For now hopefully the rattles will stay ceased. My 93 with tons of miles never really made too many noises.......

Glad you found the source of the rattle, and awesome summary! Could you post a picture of the faulty weld so we know what to look out for?

Thanks for the tip. I have the same creak from the passenger side front airbag area. Could not figure it out. Today I tesa taped the cabin filter door, plastic tray in the glove box, front right tweeter cover and the grab handle A pilar that meets, into the tweeter cover and the side dash cover. Finally that creak is gone. Awesome!

Since this is the most comprehensive thread, I figured I would post my experience in the hopes it might be useful. My truck was making a very prominent rattle/creak at 1800-2000 rpm when under load (accelerating or going up-hill). I located it to be coming from the lower dash/door on the passenger side. It was driving me mad as 1. It was louder than the radio and 2. My commute back home is entirely uphill. I did all the normal fixes for the speaker grill/A-pillar and I ended up pulling then applying felt tape to the glovebox, the interior door panel, passenger kick panel, and door sill. None of these fixed it. I found a thread for 2nd gens and someone mentioned wrapping the large wire bundle under the dash. The bundle rides up on the blower motor and is about an inch or so in diameter. It also is covered in a loose vinyl sheath. I applied felt tape to it where it was contacting on both sides and it seems to have fixed the rattle.

Edit: rattle is still gone 11/04/23
