Thanks for the pics. Nice to wake up to that view.
Is that a grey or black GFC?
It would be nice to have side by color swatchs esp. black vs grey. I initially wanted white to handle direct sun but now I realize that the top is white/translucent so the color is not so important. Grey or black would look best with my very dark red/black/metalflake truck.

Thanks! It looks like its a light shade of grey. Actually, after rereading GFC site; its silver not grey.
A color code # would be helpful so that I could bring it up on my computer thereby getting an accurate presentation without reflections, etc.

Yeah ive tried both, the backpacker version is cool, but doesnt work well in windy conditions as @crazysccrmd mentioned.

@Ralston Thank you for the pictures! Looking making a strong case for black on a white taco. Any inside pictures you can post so we can compare to the white insides?

market has changed for sure. Support is dying out for our rigs and anything new is rare.

Just not a lot of buyers anymore for 1st gen stuff.

Cinco De Mayo 2018 was a big day. We picked up our highly anticipated GFC. It has been a very fun winter popping in on the GFC boys as they tweaked prototypes. The production unit is top notch! We are thrilled with the build quality and the overall accessibility of this sick tent.

The side panels are one of the features we are most stoked on. They allow incredible access to the contents of your truck bed. No more crawling up into a full bed from the tailgate trying to get the one thing that slid up against the cab. Simply open a side panel and grab it. All the side panels lock for security and are weather sealed. Oh yeah they function wonderfully in the rain

Cheers to Graeme, Wiley, Ross and Team at GFC!

We will be releasing a lot more content around this camper very soon. Have any questions about it? Let us know and we’ll do our best to answer them. Want to check it out for yourself, Let us know.

The side panels provide a pretty good rain shelter if the rain is relatively vertical. GFC said they are working on a temporary stay that will keep the panels angled down slightly to shed water off. As is, the panels open wider than 90deg which is ideal for access but the water runs towards the hinge and eventually off to the sides, which isn't a big deal however the temp stay will work well for those rainy situations.

We haven’t slept in it during a hard rain to test the tent windows for leaks. I can attest that the side windows provide good ventilation. I would expect the rear window to let water in if completely open as the geometry of any triangular tent exposes a small projected area to the sky. With the large window closed the two side windows provide plenty of airflow.

Totally, that would be an easy solution. I’m confident the GFC stay will be purpose built and look cool.

In some of the pictures where the sides are closed you can see the red tubes at the corners. Is this just a prototype thing, or will the tubes always show a little when the sides are down? It's actually pretty cool that the tubes can be seen - it lets everyone know that this is no regular camper. It also makes color choice important. Red would be perfect on my truck

Looks awesome thanks for posting this! Is that silver color matched to the Tacoma’s silver or is it the stock silver choice. It looks gloss in these photos, and I know Graeme had mentioned the sides would be more of a rough matte finish. Thanks!

I looked back through the thread and FAQ's but didn't see it anywhere (though I probably just missed it). Can anyone tell me the outside diameter of the DOM tubing used for the construction of the Frame? Thanks in advance.

    Mostly stuff I built.

Educated guess here from dealing with tube regularly would be 1.5” OD.

I’d certainly believe that. But I’d rather be sure. I’m ordering a couple items from RAM for my boat and I figured I would get a few RAM tough-claws that could serve double duty. 1.5” would be great... but I’d like to be certain. Thank you.
