Got the lift on, some pics below

I got my lift done over the past 2 days. Glad i did it myself, gained a lot of good experience. No help, all solo.

Did the rears first. New 5100 shocks and deaver single aal. The first side took me 3 hours. Most of that time spent struggling with top nut removal on shock. Finally cut the bitch off. The next morning got the second rear side done in an hour. My truck has skinny tapered shims below the leafs stock, not sure if all tacos have these.

Got both fronts done same day as well. New 5100s, 885 springs and LR UCAs. Got both sides done in about 6 hours. Long uca bolt a bit of a PITA but a little bending in the fender gained clearance to get it out. Bottom shock bolt was a bitch to get back through hole, wasted an hour on that, finally persuaded it through.

All in all very pleased, prelim measurements give me 1/2" rake or so which I like. I may add a 1" block to the back after this settles, we will see.

At firestone getting alignment. They got near zero toe and camber. Caster 2.6 or so. Will post alignment specs and pics later. Back to firestone to get steering wheel aligned, off about 10 degrees right, hopefully a quick fix. Initial highway drive no vibes noticed.

Removed my lock / unlock beep today. I tried the key in out 10 second then push this or that, couldnt get it to work for me. I found the noisemaker in the engine compartment and simply unplugged the noisemaker. So easy and reversible if ever i want it back.

 

Extended AC drain line over the weekend, leaves a nice little puddle on the ground now, and no more dripping on frame

 

CV Boots after lift, both pics of passenger side, I think the fins look good.

 

Rear diff breather mod today. Bout 45 minutes start to finish.

 

Did you use part

$15 90404-51319 Toyota Genuine Parts - Union (90404-51319)

90404-51319 for the union in the diff or did you use a non-Toyota part? I ask because when I put mine in a few minutes ago the threads got tight before I got it all the way down. I saw that the threaded area was longer on the new part compared to the stock breather so I'm not sure if I can keep going or if I should stop even though some threads are still showing.

 

I really don't know what part numbers I used. I went in asking for certain part numbers at the toyota parts counter, and the guy came back with a different part for the union. He said there was a wrong part # listed somewhere, and he gets bombarded for the wrong part number. I had asked for this part #, "

$13 90404-51026 Intake Air Control Valve Union

90404-51026 Camary Union" as taken from "diff breather mod for dummies thread". He brought me back a different one, and worked fine, no issues. Sorry, the parts did not come in bags with part numbers, I would have checked the numbers.

I know it's to late now, but I used a pair of vice grips and put them of the shock shaft to get the rear shocks out.
I should do my A/C drain too. I don't know why they made it drip right there...

Yes, the factory a/c drain line position sucks, extension is a no brainer and very easy. I hacked off a small piece and took it to autozone to match up the new hose diameter.

Clazzios went in last night. About 2 hours start to finish. 1.5 hours for first side, and about 30 minutes for the second. Gotta love the learning curve. All in all very pleased. They are TIGHT going on, but got on nonetheless. Very good youtube install video tutorial. I did not remove seats. Wife says they look like it came with it, passed the wifey test Just got back from getting the switches and wiring installed, local stereo shop, took them about 2 hours, $150 beans. I have zero wiring experience and did not want to F it up, and pay someone to fix it.

 

Did a home made tailgate reinforcement over this past weekend. I know, I know.......


Anyway, got a nice piece of .063 alum mill finish for free from a vendor we do a lot of biz with. I know its not 14 gauge thick steel, but it definitely adds some substance / additional weight to the gate. Cut to fit with a jigsaw. Cut super easy, like butter. It aint perty, but who will ever see it.

 

Truck is coming together nice! Good to see a build from the Charlotte area. I have to extend the AC condensate line too. It's been dripping on the passenger floorboard, so I think it's got mud or something stuck in it.

Hey man, it's me again...lol. Did you follow any sort of directions to do this? I have looked on TW, but haven't found step-by-step instructions on the proper way to do it...I'm sure there out there though. Thanks!
