Once I really dove into the TacomaWorld, I started doing small mods here. The first thing I did was install some Weather Tech Floor Matts, AVS Wind Deflectors and got a BakFlip Industries FiberMax Tonneau Cover and some Red Line Tuning Hood Struts. I also installed an auxiliary fuse panel with some fancy dancy battery terminal connectors to clean it up a little bit. I use this to run my accessories. In my opinion it cleans up the wiring and allows me to have all my fuses in one location instead of having in line fuses all over the place. I am going to be due for a little over haul of the fuse panel under the hood because its starting to get a little crowded with the relays. I installed some lights under the hood as well. For those, I had them wired thru a normally closed switch so they would come on automatically when the hood was lifted and shut off when the hood was closed as it pushed on the switch. unfortunately the switch didn't even last a winter so the lights are out of commission for the time being hahaha

    IMG_20160820_214934.jpg

Next up was replacing the Dome, Map and License Plate light bulbs with some LEDS, I also changed the third brake light bulbs with red led's. I don't have any pictures of the lights, but I'm sure most of you have done the same thing and know what it looks like haha

I did not like the RED lens on the third brake light so I ordered a smoked lens off the interwebs. It came in the mail and I was really excited, when I installed it, it had this ugly purple colour to it. So I took it upon myself to VHT night shade that shit, now it looks awesome! haha but I put one too many coats on and u can barely see any light thru it hahaha

    20170711_193809.jpg

My Fog Lights were looking pretty faded so I ordered some "smoked" fogs from Spyder, not as dark as I was wanting but I'm happy with them none the less.

Next up, was my OBA set up on a budget. My rims were in pretty bad shape, the aluminum is oxidising so bad that my rims leak air, so once a month I had to add air, now I can do it on the go.

I bought myself a Viair 70P compressor because I wanted it to be small enough to install into the big cubby in the bed. I had to modify it by removing the handle and the pressure gauge. I didn't use the supplied hose and installed a quick connect instead. The issue I did run into is that the hose supplied has a built in pressure relief valve, so I did buy an adjustable PRV off Amazon and added that to the compressor, I adjusted the PRV so release pressure at about 30PSI. I did this so that while I fill my tires, once the relief valve lets out air, I know my tires are up to pressure. I keep the hose and all the accessories in the Viair bag behind the rear seats.

once this compressor fails I will be investing into an ARB dual air compressor and installing it under the hood with the SLEE bracket that places it by the windshield washer fluid reservoir.

I upgraded my head unit with an AVH-X2800BS and I used the Metra Dash Kit.

    IMAG0879.jpg

Not long after doing this upgrade, I found out you can add some Bluetooth steering wheel controls to the right hand side of the steering wheel. I did a full write up HERE.
    IMAG0878.jpg

    IMAG0880.jpg

While I was at it, I also hooked up my rear view camera to my head unit using this thread:
    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/oem-camera-connection-below-dash.30889/

    IMAG0947.jpg

AND I also did the 4x4 Switch Illumination MOD by rcbs204

    IMAG0892.jpg

Since I was messing around with the wiring in the truck, I added a USB/AUX port to the truck. I ordered one from MicTuning which their website said it would fit in the blanks under the AC controls. Well long story short it didn't so this is where I installed it.

    IMAG0700.jpg

THEN!! a few months after installing it I stumbled upon one that actually does fit under the AC controls hahaha

Made the decision to get rid of my tonneau cover and get a cap. I only had about 17'' of room under the cover which just wasn't enough room. It was hard to fit a good cooler under there, or even stand a propane tank upright. Found one for sale on FB for 400 bucks and came with a roof rack on it.

I cleaned up the inside, put new screens on the windows, replaced the halogen dome light with the updated LED version, cleaned the outside of the cap, got the rack powder coated and replaced all the rusted hardware. Designed a better mounting system for the rack to help keep the water out. Replaces the fiberglass piece on the bottom of the window because it was broken and wired up the 3rd brake light and dome light.

For the dome light, I wired it to my bed lights so it now turns on with the same remote.

    MORE PICTURES HERE and HERE

NEXT up haha my flush mount LED pod install. I bought me some Rough Country flush mounts. the wiring harness is TOO SHORT to reach the back bumper!! so make that baby longer hahaha also make sure you have a lot of cutting wheels for your dremel! or be smart and have a grinder lol anyways! I cut off that piece of crap push button they supply with the wiring harness and installed me a CH4x4 switch instead. DO NOT order the amber! it is more of a yellow then a burnt orange, so if u want it to look close to OEM as possible, do yourself a favor and order RED!!

for those who care, to wire in the CH4x4 Switch next to the steering wheel and have it DIM with the dash light, do the following.

you can cut that push button off the supplied wiring harness and hook up the switch real easy. so WHITE from harness would go to GREEN from switch (power from battery that will get sent to energize relay). BLUE from harness goes to RED 1 from switch (this wire sends the power to the relay). then the black from harness I did not use because is it just the ground for the illumination on the push button. I wired my switch to dim with the rest of the dash lights. to do that, on the switch you then have a RED 2(+) wire and a BLACK(-). These are your illumination + and -. I wired them to the dimmer switch to the left of the steering wheel. Green with WHITE stripe is GROUND and solid GREEN is your positive. so RED2 to GREEN and BLACK to GREEN w/ WHITE STRIPE.

I got my truck professionally buffed and polished, also removed the chrome logos and replaced them with matte black ones.

Got my oxidized to shit rims powder coated black and now they no longer leak air! I also replaced all the TPMS sensors but never calibrated them to the system so the light has been on the dash for like 6 months lol and it surprisingly doesn't bother me.

so, long story short, it sat like this for a month while I waited for my rims to get done lol Oh I also installed some 1.25'' SpiderTrax Wheel Spacers.

Holy crap that was a lot of work!! if your thinking of doing a build thread, do it from day 1 hahaha but there you have it folks, a year and a half of mods lol thanks for looking thru all of it and from now on I can just keep this up to date instead of playing catch up hahaha

Maaaann you went full crazy to wire those flush mount led! I've never took apart my dash like that haha! always run my electric wires with a steel wire lol

How do you like your aux fuse box? I was wondering if it worth having it. Are all the accessories always hot when it is wired in this box or you can add a relay to have them hot with a oem accessory? like ignition switch or parking lights?
