19.Temporarily install Rear Crossmember (RCD 20-57405-2) for reference when marking the frame for the differential cutout.

You may be right, but I remember reading that you dont for 2wd. We dont have the front diff to clear. So that would require no cutting. Think theres another thread somewhere, I'll try to find it so the op has the appropriate info.

I'd go Icon if you can afford it. They make kits in nice stages. http://www.iconvehicledynamics.com/store/categories.php?category=Toyota/2005-%2b-Tacoma

I think the whole issue isn't with the diff being present or not, it's the "new" location of the LCA mounting points since they bolt up to the crossmember.

Depends on the backspacing of the cockstars.

If it's 4.5", then you can actually go with a 285/65/18.

First off let me say that I was wrong in my earlier post when I said that the front crossmember was cut. Its actually the rear crossmember.

The RCD front crossmember/ drop bracket bolts up to the frame.

The rear crossmember has to be cut in order to provide clearance for the differential drop.

LCA connects to the rear also. See page 12.

I had Toytec Ultimate kit and then sold it for the RCD kit. Best decision I ever made. I have the same truck as you also. 09 TRD sport. Check out my gallery and you can see pics of my truck with both kits on it. RCD rides and performs so much better it's not even funny. Go with RCD IMO.

Hmmm...good point. It just makes you wonder why they don't have a "If you have a pre-runner, skip step#X" in the directions.

Thanks to you all for the help I'm not going to pay out the money for the rcd kit .. So with that being said I'm think I'm going with the toytec ultimate kit for now and the price so is that a good choice for the price ??

I honestly have seen alot of threads out there in which people are not liking the ULK. If you do not need the adjustability, I would check out OME shocks, struts and coils. has some good prices on them and other susp. components

From what I read before I bought my Icons, its the 2.5" dirt logic adjustable coilover, fabtechs own uniball uca and their firt logic rear shocks. from what I remember its pricey as hell.
