its one of those odd weird life things:
    consider:
    - people post a crazy amount of stuff on social media (TW is a type of social media)
    - law enforcement find a suspect's rants on social media prior to the criminal activity
-and yes there are creeper-people do cyber-stalk cyberbully and cyber harassment

best way not to be found out about something? or not to be creeped out? we can't post it on social media..... ugh i don't like how this all sounded but kinda like what the police say to the ones who they are arresting: anything you say can and will be used against you

What side of the timing does the pseudo Atkinson cycle control, intake or exhaust?

*Disregard the question, almighty google answered me, intake timing is adjust.

So posting tables isn't a thing apparently. I did some digging and ran out of time... Lots of P11EC and EE codes out there.

This might give yall some leverage with the dealer? Dunno.

Thanks for compiling those. It would seem it’s mainly an issue with 2017+ 3.5s then. Perhaps they tweaked it to meet tougher CAFE standards around that time and reliability is suffering as a result.

Not sure. from what I was reading, it was a lot of valve guide type stuff. Maybe they updated the head design or manufacturing process after 2019?

That’s possible. I gather there aren’t many reports on her of these issues in 2020-22 trucks?

Not really, but look at the milages. Good chance newer trucks haven't gone far enough yet to have given a meaningful report.

I haven’t heard much about these failures in 2013-2018 Avalons and Camrys, so maybe it’s more prevalent in the 2GR-FKS as opposed to the regular FE. This is all just conjecture on my part though.

When our guys were racing sk modified's, sometimes a valve spring or valve spring keeper would break. Our engine machinist chalked it up to sustained high rpm use rather than a defective part. Maybe a similar issue for some here. I know our service manage at the toyota dealer here said these engines aren't too happy when they have to run extended periods above 3k rpm.

Yep. The polar opposite of just acknowledging the problem (which is WELL under the warranty period) and fixing it, and instead looking to see if the purpose built vehicle is actually used in the manner for which it was designed. Totally bizarre and over the line. I guess the monitoring shit they build into these vehicles to track all sorts of data isn't enough for them. For shame, Toyota. For shame.

But but but you don’t get the HP peak until 6000rpm and torque is maxed at 4600 rpm? :goingcrazy::notsure: So why should it be babied at 3k rpm?:frusty:

Does anyone know if there’s been enough backlash for Toyota corporate to honor the warranty on it? It has to be said it looks really bad on them..

Talking about the GR86 here but some of the Tacomas refused service because of off-road use would apply also.

I think the 6k rpm is suppose to be for short bursts only if needed not to live there. I was recommended to keep the engine rpm under 2500 if you want long life.
