Black 2013 Toyota Tacoma 4x4 DCLB Sport. Even though I've been around Toyota trucks my whole life, I'm a newbie and this is the first time modding and actually learning about the in's and out's of it all. I'm shooting for an overland build and my ultimate goal is to have a very capable vehicle to take me where ever the adventures are calling.

    Comments and constructive criticism welcomed

    :turtleride: H I S T O R Y :turtleride:

It all started with finding TW, de-badging and swapping for aftermarket tail lights and I was hooked.

Then came the rear view mirror bracket.

Got rid of that version and got a BirdDawg Industries ClearView RearView mirror riser for the option of a Ram mount. Not sure what I'm mounting up there yet.

    Fog light anytime mod
    [IMG]

    Painted emblem and BHLM
    [IMG]

    Redline hood struts
    [IMG]

    Wet Okoles
    [IMG]

    Added some bed mat security
    [IMG]

    Grillcraft mesh grill
    [IMG]

Swapped out my muffler for an Aero Turbine 2525XL with a turn down pre-axle (there was a lot of drone noise prior to the lift. Drone went away post lift. Drone noise is back. Need some sound deadeners.)

Then I finally got my suspension parts and with the help of a wrench guru of a friend we installed everything one Saturday.

Then some BFD's wrapped with LT285/65R18 Trail Grapplers. Unfortunately installed by 4Wheel Parts.
Here's a view of how far my tires stick out for my fellow Oahu members that need recon. This setup passes.

I was told there will be some rubbing so I bought CMC plates from BAMF and had asked 4Wheel Parts to do the CMC at the same time as my wheel and tire installation. This is what I got.
And they kept my BAMF plates. Muth@f@k@s!

Then I couldn't pass up an opportunity for an aluminum Pelfreybilt front bumper and an IFS skid plate from a group buy kh7nm (Miles) organized. Without this group buy I wouldn't ever gotten a bumper. Normally shipping to Hawaii is ridiculous. Sometimes costing just as much or even more than the product thats being shipped. So much thanks to Satin and Tyler at Pelfreybilt and Miles and the rest of the Oahu peeps that helped put this together.

I got an aFe Stage 2 SI intake and a custom cover made.

I had a lot of preload on the coilovers to keep it level.
So I decided to buy Icon 14" 700 lbs coil springs during the Black Friday sales. I got an incredibly amazing deal so I went thru with it. I figured I was gonna get a winch, more under belly armor, and sliders so why not. In retrospect, I think I should've stayed with the 650 lbs coils a little longer and remove a leaf spring from the Dakars instead. Its level now with less preload but a harsher ride and I'm noticing wear on my CV boots.

    Did the differential breather mod
    [IMG]

Installed a tailgate strut. No more slamming tailgates.

Installed the Tech Deck X-treme. This thing is bad ass.

Made a better mount for the Ultragauge in the A pillar.

    Painted the calipers
    [IMG]

    All-Pro bolt-on sliders installed
    [IMG]

There's more things that have been done but just too lazy to repost them here. Skim thru the last couple pages for updates.

Crap my bad. Didn't see the bold heading future modifications. I just got my Clifford installed and I love it. I got everything done, down to gps.

I'd suggest the 2way system. I got the 5706x. So it's got the lcd screen, and the spare 1 way remote. I like the screen so you can see what you're doing with the function key. I can't stop playing with mine every time I use the truck

The Clifford is the same thing as viper. Python is also. They're all directed electronics. I have the smart start and they installed a tilt sensor, tailgate and hood pin to go with the alarm. I wish they incorporated more with the phone app. Like being able to change settings and such.

    Thanks bud!! I appreciate it.

Interesting. If they have the same package options then I'll probably go with the cheapest.

Yeah all the same. I think if you go on Amazon the viper is cheaper than Clifford and prime shipping. But here the shops all sell the different brands. So I went to the most reputable and he's worked on my truck before so I went back.
