    Hi yall,
So I was lucky enough to purchase my very own first vehicle earlier this week, a used black 07 PreRunner (and I might sound dumb, but I think it is the TRD sports package) , with about 49,000 miles on it (not bad in my book.)

Now my dad and uncle have taught me how to take care of a car since I was little, as any sensible parent should, so I know basic matinence for any car, but little about specifically Tacomas. So I decided that registering here would be a good first step in learning.

Heres what I dont know about it...What modifications I can do to increase horsepower, performance, gas mileage. I want to install a good air intake kit on it and change the exhaust system, possibly also install a performance chip in it, and I don't really know how to use forums so if you guys can direct me in the right direction for now that would be great.

    Thanx,
    Noah

welcome from scottsdale, and if you have a hood scoop, 17 in sport wheels, and a sticker on the bedside that says TRD sport then it is a sport edition

It has the hood scoop, however the previous owner I think took off the TRD sticker off.

    Hi from Maricopa...

Come to one of the meets we have and you can see a lot of modified trucks and meet a lot of the peeps on here.

As for the questions... if you have the TRD package you should have a power outlet in the bed, temp/compass display in the roof, sport seats, and color matched panels (grill, rear bumper, door handles). If your'e missing the bed outlet, chances are it's an SR5 modified. No big deal though, drivetrain is the same.

Note, PreRunner = 4x2. If it's 4x4, it's not a PreRunner (you may know this already but... a lot of people get confused so figure I'd just make it clear :D).

As for gas millage... the only thing to have any real quantifiable effect is to modify your right foot on the gas pedal to slow down... other than that everything else is pretty negligable on that department.

For performance... most light mods are pretty neglibable too. Exhaust/CAI/Doug T long tube headers might yield what, about 20hp on the dyno I think (I'm sure chris can correct me). To gain any real true performance jumps you'll need to go boosted (supercharger, turbo)... then the game opens up from there..

Also read up the oil change guide on the links on the top of the site. I know it's basic, but it will show you the drain plug from removing the oil filter (which is on the top of the v6 engine) so you can avoid a huge mess... I missed that the first time and yea...

    GL and enjoy the truck!
