I found this mysterious puddle of goo under the snowblower last night after is sat in the same spot for maybe seven or eight hours...

Too thick to be gas or oil; People on the snowblower forum where I’m a member seem to think it’s grease or oil from the auger drive...?

Wanted to have this picture as my avatar for this thread, but for some reason it doesn’t work...

Have you checked if your truck is "pre-wired" for cruise control ?
it is very likely that it is and you won't have to mess w/ adding any wiring or the clock spring (spiral cable)

I only had to get the "cruise control" wire and all research points to my truck having the proper clockspring; Right now it's a 50/50 "Schrödinger's cat" type of situation with regards to whether or not my truck is prewired for cruise control. I've got some people telling me that Toyota stopped putting the same wiring harness in all trucks (even base model) beginning the in the 2009 model year (I've got a 2010 manufactured in August 2009); I've other people (like you) saying it's likely that my truck is prewired. The people who say my truck isn't prewired also say that unless I tap directly into the ECU (which I do not feel comfortable doing), I would have to replace the entire wiring harness (and possibly the ECU) with one from a truck with cruise control; This could end up costing more than half of what my truck is worth!

As of right now, my truck is Schrödinger's cat, but instead of being both alive and dead it is both prewired and not prewired at the same time...

My truck is going in for a tire rotation at my mechanic's on Friday morning, and he has the tool necessary to remove the driver's airbag, so we are going to test if the truck is in fact prewired.

My lawnmower had developed a small oil leak which l finally traced to a drain tube being slightly loose.

I was able to get a wrench up inside there to tighten that tube up.
