Accurate depiction of how removing the OEM spare pulley system.

F*CK THAT. NEVER AGAIN. Racheting spanners are an ABSOLUTE must. 12mm is the size for those curious. The only thing that would have made it easier was to remove the bed completely. Sliced up both hands, cut up a knuckle or two; not bad, but I never wanna do that again haha. EVER.

Doing so save maybe 3.14 pounds? Am I doing fast and furious proud?

Next up was test fitting the bed platform and I'm happy to report that everything fits great after rearranging the tools and jack in the bed!! :woot:

MIGHT consider a RTIC 45 specifically for the truck and have the 65 for parties etc. The 65 has come in handy so much for parties, cookouts and BBQ's but the 45 would really be ideal for this application. Luckily, @GARSHA91 has a 45 that I would like to test with, but we will see. Also, since the spare is out of the bed now and secured to the swingout, the cable and lock will be "recycled" for securing the cooler under the truck on campouts so that I am a little more comfortable back there. In testing on Saturday, I immediately noticed how uncomfortable it would be with the cooler in the bed. That isn't to say that with the "mattress" pad it would be more comfortable; but I just haven't had a true dry run. Moving the cooler out of the bed and securing it under the truck might be the best option moving forward.

Time to get busy with 3M spray glue and a stapler! Should have this finished up before the weekend!

Nice! How long does ice hold in those? I really like the quality of the RTIC coolers; just thinking I want something smaller and lighter, but big enough to store food for extended weekend trips. Oh, and without breaking the bank aka wife approved pricing

Nice! The price seems really good and it's nice to hear an honest review from someone that's actually tested it. Appreciate it. Seems like a good option for my needs. I might pick up a 52 pending how big it actually is. I wish they had something in the 30-40 range since it seems it goes from 26 to 52. That sucks.

I have been thinking about this next problem for a while. It's been filed in the back of my mind for a while..

Problem: CB antenna mount is steel. Living in the Midwest suck and causes steel things to rust/corrode. Usually, every time there is a trip, I have to bust out the extension cord and dremel and clean up the mount; EVERY SINGLE TIME. Annoying.

    Proposed solution: Cordless dremel.

New problem: $90 for a cordless dremel.

New solution #2: Stainless steel CB antenna mount.

New problem #2: No one, that I know, makes them.

I reached out to a fairly well known fabricator. I thought they would kick me one or two for free for the "idea" and they could make $$$. They wanted $150 EACH for a stainless mount. I damn near passed out. That's RIDICULOUS.

    Enter Rago Fabrication.

I went on their site and they had them for the 3rd gen. So I emailed them and asked if they work for 2nd gens or if they planned to make them. It should be noted that if you look for the product sorting by vehicle and year/gen on their site, it does not exist:

    upload_2018-5-23_15-43-0.jpg

    :notsure:

They emailed me the direct link for the 2nd mount: ORDERED.

Next, when installing the HC bumper, we snapped one of the bolts used to secure the bumper to the frame. There are still 3 or 4 bolts holding the bumper on so I am not worried. But for the peace of mind, I want to grab another one just to be safe.

I reached out on the Pelfreybilt thread and someone knew the part number almost immediately; shoutout @itaro

    TOYOTA 90119-A0192

Confirmed that the part number is correct; highlighted on the screenshot below:

    LINK: https://parts.villagetoyota.com/products/TOYOTA/BOLT--WWASHER/3320732/90119A0192.html

(Mostly posting to make this information available for someone that might be in the same boat. I was unable to locate any real information during my google searching. Kind of had to piece it all together from different sources.)

Ended up ordering from a WI dealership's ebay page. Should be here by the end of the week. TRD of Dallas wants $10 to ship a $1.66 bolt. No thanks.

I still have to get half of the bolt out. Should be fun..

    Agreed.

    "Euro" < Prius

    MOAR prius', MOAR dinosaurs.

I was going to say "..with her Starbucks in the other hand" but she was probably doing her make up, talking on the phone, drinking Starbucks and driving with one door near the pedals and the other foot on the steering wheel..let's be honest.

Since I got extra supplies at the hardware store, I wanna build a pub table for the garage. I have the stools already and I have been wanting something for when I host mod days and the wife and I entertain.

Think of something along the lines of these:

Thoughts? Anyone here play with wood?

Got some stuff done over the weekend. Not much since it was hot AF and the wife and I were doing some yard scaping for a party on Sunday.

Friday got off work at noon :woot: and came home to a very eager wife ready to go spend money at Home Depot. Purchased some square foot pavers, big bags of mulch, river rock and some small items for her garden. Friday evening we met up with some friends for a baseball game. Saved my friend's pregnant girlfriend from a home run ball just inches from her head.

Saturday was yardwork from the previous day's trip to Home Depot. It also would have been my dad's 60th birthday. So I was with my wife, mom and brother at a BBQ at my mom's for my dad. Nice evening.

Sunday was busy. There was a lot to do before the party that evening.

First, I built the pub table I was talking about. Worked great, everyone loved it at the party. Needs revisions and to be reworked:

    C543A142-6CEB-4271-990E-515D67D08EB7.jpg

Next was giving the rig some Gucci swag:

    8A181562-29EA-4FD3-9610-8BE12891F7CE.jpg

    Do you even overland, bro???

    EC585CEA-21EA-433D-B63B-B437040D87F4.jpg

Again, it was hot and I was running around getting everything setup and staged for the party. The wife was back at work after being off Friday and Saturday so everything fell on me to get done. Sunday evening was just relaxing with good friends, great food and adult beverages. I also kept my title as the best cornhole player of the evening going 12-0.

Monday was a bit cooler and more comfortable out so I was able to clean the bitch:

    5B173477-B9F5-476B-8713-F88DBDCF91A6.jpg

I also enjoyed explaining what a power washer and foam cannon is to some gen Y fuckheads..good times.

Tuesday, I received some goodies in the mail!

Need to test fit and make sure the threads are correct and confirm the part number is valid. I might do that tomorrow.

    A031370C-C20B-477E-818E-BDF420DF1713.jpg

TC Cam tab gussets came in too! Thanks again to @ETXTacoma for the GB! Although, kinda bummed I didn't get any candy from @Wheeler's Off-Road Inc :notsure:

Received my stainless steel CB antenna mount from Rago fabrication with a piece of candy!

    65173D0A-66BE-4AB8-97B6-7ED4A7115508.jpg

Purchased some new t handles for the rear bumper too. My brother had a bent handle, not sure how since his is brand new, and he got the part number from Satin at Pelfreybilt:

    https://www.mcmaster.com/#90222a116/=18dv93h

Mine sometimes stick, especially on the bearing handle and being the older model, mine has one T-handle and one ball handle. So, the extra grip of having two T-handles would be nice as well as brand new hardware.

Doing some research on a few things too :anonymous:

    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/new-kit-cab-mount-relocation-kits.536984/

Would be nice to resolve the very SLIGHT vibe at 55-60 mph too:

    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/drive-shaft-vibrations-solved-step-by-step.244535/

I also reached out to LEER in hopes of bettering my camper shell. Hoping to hear back soon and hear what I want to...

Half day of work yesterday; really loving the new job as this will be the schedule every other week until Labor day due to their "summer hours" scheduling.

Anyways, I ran some errands and picked up some things to work on for the truck this weekend:

    75F8DC4D-55D0-4294-B2BC-8089A2F0C5ED.jpg

My handles came in less than 24 hours of ordering them. Perks of being less than 20 minutes away from the company I guess. I didn't realize that there's styles of handles are also different. This might be the case though since I have an older model style bumper:

    A6C8930D-4188-4A42-B832-A40F8D927BB4.jpg

I still reached out to Satin for the part number above.

The old handle pin was bent:

    836AEC5C-33F5-4D64-93EE-2E307C7DAC46.jpg

I also wrapped the crimp loop sleeves of the limb risers in heat shrink to prevent scratches on the headlight hoops:

    52CA36EE-EB23-4039-9015-F3DF079EDDDB.jpg

Going to be taking the wife to work this morning since we are going to up towards the WI border tonight for the sprint car races. After that, I have a few more errands to run and then I'm going to come home and try and paint all the flares, measure for the axle shims and maybe try to install the snorkel a-pillar bracket if I have enough time.
