Yeah, the egg noodles are in another container.

Good and filling on a cold, rainy afternoon.

Yeah man, saw it on this thread actually. Makes me want to use the crock pot that much more when I don’t have to scrub burnt food out of it.

Here’s the recipe. This is the third time we’ve used it, really good.

    https://www.daringgourmet.com/slow-cooker-beef-stroganoff/

It may look a little thin when you’re done but it thickens nicely when it’s no longer piping hot. We do the 5 hour on high method.

I just did the chicken crack too, in the instant pot. Yesterday was -5 and planned on using the Vortex and grill to do chicken wings but didn't have it in me. So did wings in the IP and finished in the oven. While they looked great and were fall apart tender totally missing the smoke and crispy bite of traditional wings. The chicken crack today made up for it, big time.

Lot of slightly different recipes for it, crack chicken is all over the internet and people love it. Not a big fan of Ranch but thought I'd try it. There is a reason crack is in the name of it....

4 Breast for me was 4 pounds, most recipes call for 4 breasts and 2 pounds of meat. Those Iowa chickens they sell up here are huge. Yet they claim these are extinct

1 package of Hidden Valley Ranch seasoning and dressing. Mix with 1 cup of water so it doesn't clump.

2 8 oz. packages of cream cheese.

About 3/4 pounds of bacon cut up with scissors fried and drained. Because all great recipes start with first you cook a pound of bacon. (or close to it)

2 cups of shredded Cheddar Cheese.

If your 4 breasts are normal and 2 pounds half everything else of course.

Everything in the Instant pot except for the Cheddar and bacon. Went 15 minutes High Pressure then natural pressure release for 10 minutes and then quick release. (6 hours or so crock pot) Pulled breasts and shredded. Some warn if you overcook them they get mushy, so was careful not to but would have been easier to shred if I went 20 minutes. Same would apply if using a crock pot to not overcook.

After shredding threw back in IP with bacon and cheddar. Put on Med heat slow cooker setting for 30 minutes and everything thickened up nicely.

    Crack Chicken IP.jpg

Hungry and didn't want to wait for it to thicken so tried some on Hawaiian Sweet dinner rolls with tomato and onion.

    Crack Chicken sweet rolls.jpg

And that is when the crack started to hit. Not bad on crackers either and less of a mess once it thickened. Even added some cheddar and left over bacon as a topping. So much for me not being a fan of Ranch :anonymous:
